I vote we head towards the residential district. It would be a good idea to get a rough idea of the extent of the famine in the immediate vicinity. I'm guessing we'll make it up to the palace area a bit later anyway.

*The residential district opens out from another square at the end of the street. The entire city appears to be formed from interconnected squares.

From inside one building can be heard arguing. The curtains at the window billow in a slight breeze, revealing two shadowy forms inside.

Around, faces continue to peer out at the team, their eyes brightening slightly as they pass. They all look very friendly and pleased to see the strangers.*

*Huan and Arthur Keep a wary eye on the peering faces.*

*Peace walks over to the nearest native, who peering out from a doorway.*

Hi there.

*Eyes widening, the Glimarnate <> grins at Peace*

[Wact]: Good evening, lieutenant I believe? I am Wact. We have heard much about your people and are pleased to welcome you to our land. So few of you have come to visit however! Our people would be happy to recieve as many of you as would like to visit. I apologise, perhaps you would like to ask questions or be shown around? It is just that we are all rather excited about you being here.

*looks supprised.*Well! News certainly travels fast on this planet!

Pleased to meet you Wact. It's nice to meet a race that is so welcoming.

[Wact]: It would be my pleasure *bowing low* perhaps you would care to visit my own home?

*he gestures towards the nearest door*

*Through the doorway is a tall bare room, with bright rag rugs on the walls and floor. Smooth, curved furniture is a contrast to the angularity of the people, and everything is textured to create a soft and welcoming experience. The lighting is low, from what appear to be glowing crystals on the walls. There is a table in the middle of the room with something similar to 3D chess set up on it. There are chairs in each corner and one longer sofa against the left wall from the front door. Through a curtained doorway in the right wall can be seen a thin long bed with a sheet over it and a sloped pillow. There is a small case with what look like ringbinder folders stacked on it. Other than these things the house is strangely bare. There appear to be no photographs and no kitchen equipment*

[Wact]: Welcome to my humble house. We are a spare, but creative people. Although this may look rather barran to you, what is in it is carefully crafted and everyone takes great pride in their home.

*steps through the doorway, and walks over to admire the furniture. Huan also enters and looks around.*

It certainly looks well cared for. I can't see a dining area or kitchen like we would have back home, what do you do at meal times?

*removes his hat and steps through the door.*

I wonder that too. Anything you can tell us about meals and food here would help us find a way to help you.

(in a low voice to the Lt)
Do you realize we know nothing about their physiology? I don't even know what 'famine' consists of here.

*Wact looks momentarily thrown off balance before he recovers himself and smiles*

[Wact]: The Lord provides us with food. We have no need to prepare anything. If you attend the banquet at the palace for your arrival this evening then you will see our ranges of food.

*Wact's eyes momentarily widen as he looks at Huan, before turning back to Peace and Prof*

[Wact]: Now however I believe you are due at the palace for dinner? I would be happy to continue to show you around tomorrow if you wish. Just outside in the square you will find a stand with an orb on it. If you press the orb an official will come to take you for dinner.

*Huan starts to look nervous.*

*Glances out at the sun, which is very low in the sky.*

Yes, we should be going.

*walks over to Wact.*

Well, thank you Wact. If we are still in need of a tour tomorrow we'll find you.

*Wact bows deeply and shows them through the frontdoor, watching them eagerly as they leave*

*Bows, and walks into the square.*

*nods and follows the Lt.*
