What about the straight-edge hardcore bands like Earth Crisis? They follow the code of no sex, drugs or alcohol, in the elast extreme form, and in the most extreme form no meat, cigarettes etc. either. I don't know what their religious stance is but their whole ideology is generally anti-violence etc.

Then, of course, there's comedy metal,, as purveyed by Lawnmower Deth. Very funny band. They generally take the piss out of the whole popular image of metal, with somgs like "spook perv happenings in the snooker hall", which is basically about how Ray Rearen is a vampire, or "sumo rabbit and his inescapable trap of doom".
