h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

A hundred candles light the vast entrance hall, flickering and throwing the many doorways leading out into shadow.

Near the back of the room, a black mage sets up a jack-o-lantern.

[Black Mage] KUDOS! Did you set up the music yet?

*long pause*

*step step step JANGLE step JANGLE JANGLE*

*Kudos stomps in sulkily, the bells on his jester costume jangling. He glares at the black mage, who simply stares back with stern yellow eyes from an empty face.*

[Kudos] Yeah, yeah, it's all set. So long as no one messes with it.

[Black Mage] Then help me set up the rest of these decorations. Hopefully some guests will be coming soon....

[Someone dressed up as Tetsuo from Akira walks in. It could be any one of Yar's evil clones.]

[Tetsuo] Yo.

[Kudos] *jing--* ...yo.

[Black Mage] *sinister voice* Ahh, a guest. But one doesn't make much of a party. And if everything's going to go as planned...

*eyes darken*

Well, anyhow, I just hope the others get here soon.

*Someone enters, dressed as Nightwing*

Nightwing-....then again, maybe the super villains'll get the wrong idea....

[Kudos] Well, at least you didn't lose a bet to --

[Black Mage] Oh, for heaven's sake, will you STOP that already? You got the costume, so just deal with it.

[Kudos] *jingles sulkily*

[Black Mage] Now, Kudos, show our guests where the refreshments are.

[Kudos] I'm not your slave!

[Black Mage] *crackles with fire*

[Kudos] Okay, okay, FINE! That way. *points in a random direction toward the banquet room, then sulks moodily in the shadows*

[Tetsuo] Heh. That's one of the least jolly jesters I've ever seen.

Nightwing-I think he needs to tell a riddle to cheer up. That's what Jesters do, right? Tell riddles?

*voice from outside* Ooh! Riddles?

*Kalia bounds inside, dressed as Nosfra, the vampire of Youthtopia. She sees Kudos and grins.*

[Kalia] Cute costume, pointy-head! Now, where's the riddle? :D

[Kudos] *fuming* Riddle, huh....? Fine then....

"A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50."

The boy looked around and saw no scale, so he agrees, thinking no matter what the carny writes he'll just say he weighs more or less.

In the end the boy ended up paying the man $50. How did the man win the bet?"

*With that, Kudos folds his arms and glares at Kalia*

[Tetsuo] He wrote "your exact weight."

Nightwing-Aren't riddles from Jesters supposed to rhyme? You need to get into character.

*Kudos stomps off to the Banquet Hall, fuming.*

[Kalia] Definitely no jolly jester there.

*long pause*

[Kalia] Um... anyone like pie? I love pie!

[Tetsuo] D'pends on what kind. I'm not /touching/ cow pie.

*enters, wearing a Mardi Gras mask and a long black dress that appears to be made out of shadows*

So, where's the party?

(Appears, dressed as Nightmare from Soul Calibur II (his shirtless costume, duh) and toting the soul Edge. Apparently, the real one, which is giving off Evilish Vibes. The weird arm, tho, is fake)

Hideho, then. How are we all now?

[Tetsuo] [shrugs] All evil.

[Black Mage] Hmmm... indeed... although that one over there looks kind of fishy. *points at Nightwing*



*in a room barely lit by different-colored candles that sit in strange places, reflecting in mirrors that might appear to have no purpose, a figure hums happily to himself as he hangs some evil-sounding windchimes from the ceiling.*

*never mind the figure in the middle of the room, chained to a chair, gagged, and trying futilely to make some sort of commotion...*



[Black Mage] ...although there's a very promising troupe here. Yesss. You see, I actually sort of have a reason for inviting you all here...

[Kalia] Ooh! The costumes?

[Black Mage] *looks blankly at Kalia for a minute* Um... besides that. You see, there is a bit of a secret hidden in this mansion... one that will greatly interest most of you to some degree or another. And hopefully you can discover it soon, but that might take a bit of exploration...

*pauses and considers for a moment*

[BMage] Nah... maybe later.

A hint might be nice....

[BMage] Bah, not like it's anything IMPORTANT, or anything. Just one of your fellow STUMPED members trapped in the house and all.

*thinks for a minute*

I think there's a Twister mat up in the attic. Let me go get it. *heads off*

COSMIC Twister?

Becasue I was never any good at Twister... I was initiated after the ceremony became ludacris...

[Tetsuo] [grinning cheekily] Heh. Before my time.
