I spent today in a cider house, labelling bottles ready for donors to collect (it's a community project) and for sale at a market tomorrow.
Was a really fun day doing manual labour for a change

Squeee! But what does it say that an area -- what is a "patch", exactly, in cattle rancher terms? -- should shake out 200 sloths, not 15?
And then somebody on fb posted about craptaxidermy on twitter. I mean, it's a twitter account. Go be amazed.

I have a book to recommend! While I think it will appeal particularly to Marv on account of it has lots of hand weapons in it, I also believe everyone here will really like it. It's called Hard Luck Hank: Screw the Galaxy. It's well-written, funny, the characters are ... well, believable isn't the right word... convincing. And a competent professional copy editor was involved. The author is Steven Campbell. Thank you.

It's raining!
I woudn't normally be so happy about rain, but it's the first time this year that the stuff coming down from the skies hasn't been snow, or a mix of snow and rain. Today it's plain rain. Perhaps spring will start in earnest now.

Ack, no ebook option from B&N, checking Amazon now. Hmm, looks like it is on Kindle. Now I have to install the kindle app on my tablet.
I'll need good reading material saved up for next week. I am going to be in Mexico with my wife and several of her colleagues and SO's.

Just finished the last (so far at least) Jo Nesbø. I'd rank him of one of my Top 2 or 3 modern crime writers. Like Jeffery Deaver, he can do that thing with writing/describing something - and yet, when you have turned enough pages, you find out that you got it all wrong. Without cheating! Brilliant
But - his books are rather gruesome and not for the faint-of-heart.
I liked the sloth in the weighing bowl <- slowly!
Sounds good marv. Don't drink too many Mexican flags (talking from - somewhat limited - experience).

Oh, as to the taxidermy: Have I mentioned The Bloggess and her liking for that sort of thing? Probably
This is probably not correctly categorised as taxidermy but gee, it's bad - and svary and --- . ANd a good example of The Bloggess:

Ugh. My toddler keeps exploding from both ends. I have literally mountains of washing to do. And then he goes and shares his lively bug with the rest of the household.
Sinatra that thing is just creepy!
Ooh book recommendation. I shall have a looked. Not long finished "the one hundred year-old man who jumped out of the window and disappeared"

Ooh, that's kinda cool...
Has anyone seen @CrapTaxidermy on Twitter? I've seen it called 'horrific' but I just think it's hilarious.
(Birthday weekend just gone = two new LPs and six second hand. SCORE!)

I haven't seen it, but the idea reminds me of a certain mountain lion that we saw in Lincoln for the meetup at Lil's several years ago.

The Elder Scrolls Online has, during the last few days, caused my GPU temperature to rise as high as 52ºC/125ºF - any have any idea what I could do to prevent that?
