I am sitting at home listening to an honest to goodness record. Not a CD, not an audio file (mp3 etc). An actual record. Currently it's Talking Heads Speaking in Tongues. I decided to try out the USB turntable I got shortly before going on vacation last month.

Santra, I am insanely jealous of your distillery tour. The only distillery I've ever visited is one of two operating in Utah, and you can't sample from the still. However, they do have a tasting room that I have visited.

Just read an aricile about net hatred where an expirment seemed to show that it's not the anonymity but the lack of eye contact that makes it so eay to be mean online.

Hmmm... they might be on to something there, considering how I always ask people to wait if they start talking to me while I'm polishing my glasses - because I can't get any eye contact without wearing them. Not enough to see their emotional status or facial expression, at least.

Marv, it was good. The onlybdifficultyvwith Aberlour was that they mentioned just before the tasting that probably drinking one of the drams might put you over the safe driving limit. There were 6... And hard to see how to get to and from the distillery without driving. So, I merely tasted very wee sips.

Oh, and as to rain - we were told that actually, it doesn't really rain in Scotland. It's merely distilleries having spring water delivered

The deep heat rub almost sort of works, in that it makes the whole area red and hot for a while therefore distracting me from the original pain.

Seeing the midwife again this afternoon. I gave been given fair warning that she will be stealing my blood. Apparently it's in case the lab in dundee didn't test it properly or something.

The sun appears to be shining here this morning, im almost tempted to put some washing on to hang out, it will probably just tempt the local weather gods though.

When I worked in Aberdeen my mate used to live in Aberlour. Often used to drive up there via Huntly. One winter we got stuck on the top road and were rescued by the lads going down into Aberlour for their Saturday wee dram or two.

I am, unbelievably, still at Ladera. There may be a wait of 3 or 4 weeks more for my enrollment in the special waiver to be processed, and, until I have "official" transportation rights, there's no way to get home anyway.

On top of this, there's been an error in my Medicare billing. There's Medicare A and Medicare B, see, and although I had 70 days still coming to me from 'A', which would pay my bed and board, somehow I got put on 'B', which only pays for the therapy. Last week I was presented with a humongous bill. Admin at Ladera are still working on it, but I'm expected to make phone calls, too.

Problem is, my insurance rep went away for a fortnight's holiday just when we found out about the mixup.

Medicare A, Medicare B, Medicare C and Medicaid -- separate but intermingled, federal and state, and lots of interstices where mistaked can be made.
