"If there's a large number of bugs, wash them off with soapy water."
what if you made them a little bug shower, and offered them a loofah and some bodywash?

Santra lives in Denmark but we both use the bridge between Sweden and Denmark regularly to prepare for another Viking invasion of assorted parts of the UK

I am now the proud owner of a bicycle! Its purple. I really need to be careful. Had an asthma attack trying to ride it up a not very steep hill. Getting the helmet, lock, lights and a tyre pump tomorrow. Going to raid the argos value range!

365+ backlog in less than a week and a half (the + is because 365 is what my posting list said when I started)
Yay for micro-improvements!
I've never had fresh beets, because the texture of canned really grosses me out, though at least canned pickled beets are swallowable with lots and lots of water. Yeah, I know there's miles of difference between canned and fresh with several veggies, because I can't stand canned asparagus and fresh asparagus is one of my favorites. Heck, I'll lightly steam/nuke a pound and munch on it all by myself when it's cheap enough (I like to roast it, too.)
My 4th (well, the 28th through the 5th, actually) was spent in a fireworks booth, as was Tom's. We had pretty good volunteer staffing levels for a booth--too bad we had 2 booths I'd have to say that the most memorable moments were the top shelf collapsing while I was stocking (only knocked off my cap and glasses, with no damage to either) on the 3rd, and the flying bounce house. (Those on Facebook and those who Blame 2legs have already heard the whole story. If anyone else is interested, I'll post a link to the story in the Blame 2legs thread.) Due to steady, heavy winds, the city's fireworks were actually visible this year--I could see them from the booth, though I was standing against the door to keep it from blowing open and the generator was a little louder without plywood between us... Crescent City's fireworks show is said to be the best for 300 miles. This year, the show was 30-some minutes long, and very nice. I have heard this was the last year, though, which is stupid--tourists swell this town to 3 times the population during the week leading up to the 4th, and I don't think it's the parade, cool though I remember it being (I was in the booth this year, and in the parade myself the 2-3 previous) that draws them We did our own fireworks last night.
I really shouldn't be on here right now--I've a house to turn right-side up after being effectively gone a week with babysitters and Faith and Grace being here, a volunteer appreciation dinner tomorrow to plan for, a birthday party Saturday to prepare for (not at the house) and a trip with my husband so we can reconnect to pack for--we're leaving Sunday. Added to that, we had a babysitter switch midweek because Faith has lice. I brought them home from school a couple months ago, treated us both (neither Tom nor Grace had any) but evidently missed at least one egg, darn it.

A purple bicycle - should be easy to spot. Last week the Uni trialed a Solent Staff Cycle Scheme - essentially at lunch time if you want to, you can go to Main Reception, ask to borrow a bicycle for an hour and they lend you one, along with a high vi and helmet, so you can cycle around for a bit and then take the bike back. Great idea.
Sadly, no-one else appeared to borrow bikes, so that idea's been scrapped.

Squeezed myself into the United lounge in EZE - which I reckon will turn out to be easy compared with squeezing myself into 53H in one of Lufthansas old-ashioned 747s. But it's flying north-east and that's what really counts
Got out here with a 'remis' driver who figured he'd cut 30-40 minutes off by going cross-city instead of freeway - evening rush-hour is worth avoiding here. Not that I was in a hurry (and he was on a fixed price) but not sitting still in a pile of cars on too little road is preferable.

Silly Amy. Don't you know you're only supposed to bring home textbooks, lunchboxes and homework from school?

I found an old buddy from boot camp on facebook. It's amazing the things you forget in 15 years until someone else brings them up.
