Err - do we do the tree on Wed or on the 15th? ?
I'm at a Christmas do for the department on Wed and take off to Milan on Thu morning. Verrry early I think as it's towards the end of COP15. The Mrs takes off Fri morning - which is as far as is known the day when Obama arrives. So that'll be fun

Oh, and meant to say that cochinea insects are still used for colour - our company (a.o.) makes red colours from the wee critters. The chemically derived colours have become very unpopular in the food industry since the Southampton study linked them to possible hyperactivity in childen.

Now that's very interesting indeed. I've long refused to have cadmium-based colors, or real viridian, in my home in case the cats decide to taste them, but I thought the colors used in food had long ago been determined to be safe.
Was post 135 one of the salonistas, or did we have an interloper?

It was Imp, making a comment about Tiger Woods.

Hi Kelli, hi everyone. Yes it was me. More a little satire on the media feeding frenzy than about TW per se. These things I find more than a little sad. Never been modded before. I'm waiting for a thunderbolt to strike!!

A little information, please. Does the fact that one's post has been referred to a moderator indicate that someone has found cause to register a complaint about it?

Don't feel too bad, imp, sooner or later we all get modded. Some of us get modded several times.
And yes, I think it usually means there's a spoilsport in the woodpile.

Now what else was I going to say?
Ah.

You mean as in that summer-winter-spring-fall thing, David? Color analysis? I guess you're not alone. Here's an online guide just for men (!)

When it first became a fad in the States to know your "color", my Aunt Joyce analyzed everyone in the family. I'm a winter. According to the link above, I can get away with the vulgar colors.
Great.

I think he probably means the effect of the colours on the feeling of a room rather than having your colours done FG, such as blues being cool and pinks warm for example.

Unsurprisingly, I'm a "winter" too, FG.
Imp, don't worry about being modded. I tend to get modded for posting swearie words, so now I'm careful not to do so in the Salon. But the Beeb is super-careful about situations where American Lawyers might take a pop; we had to be super-careful about Michael Jackson for example.

Oh, David, it wouldn't be fair if you had so much musical talent AND a great eye for colour too.

Sooooo funny !!!
Right Ben, I will try to do subtle and steer clear of satire - its too easily misunderstood.
Thanks for your good advice - have a

Ah hell, kelli, it wouldn't be the first time I went charging off on a different subject.
Then I suppose you can't pull off yellow either, Ben. It gives me a unhealthy gray-green tinge.

I think I'm a winter too--I don't remember... I can get away with some yellows, barely, but peach makes me that lovely green Both of the paper children (though I've not tested it as much with Notepad) can get away with any color--PaperKid's had all the shades of pink, lavendar, lime green, and turquoise. *Not* all at the same time! And they all work. And they got Tom's small ears and my big eyes.
The funny thing is, so far, Grace is a near clone of Faith--the only difference in photos of Faith at the same age as Grace is that Faith had a little more hair, and was a tiny bit darker.
