"Lazy Sunday afternoon"

Off to the pub for "Lunch" smiley - ale

Imp

I knew it was an old song but had forgotten it was also done by cream.

Might have to dig through the remains of my record collection when I get back from the smiley - ale

Enjoy your lunch BB! I have got sooooo many old vinyl albums that I never play these days smiley - sadface

I'm trying to do a soundtrack of my life on my ipod - thought just one song per year but finding it too hard to choose for too many years - things I just can't, really can't, leave out!! So I'm doing two versions.

Version one is disciplined, one track per year.

Version two is the real soundtrack stuff, those songs that carry the aura of a time, a place, a person, even an event. Dangerous stuff though!!! Some of the choices will lead to some stern interrogation from my partner - I have a very interesting history smiley - winkeye

Magwitch - My name is Mags and I am funky.

I keep trying to do that, imp. I've ripped about half my cd collection to my PC and keep creating playlists. As I play them, though, I think of something else and have to add that too. You've also made me find my copy of Disraeli Gears...I'd forgotten how good that album is. smiley - cool

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence

smiley - doh Of course it was Cream.

After thinking of Scaffold, I went to bed with an ear worm of Lily the Pink. The saviour of the human ray-hay-hace... smiley - musicalnote

Do you think salonistas would like a little themed musical teaser now and then?

It was wasn't it Br.M smiley - cool and I remember thinking the psychodelic sleeve was "wow, man!!" I am a huge Clapton fan - got stuff all the way from the earliest days through to the brilliant "Riding with the King" album, Clapton and BB King - if you don't already know it (bet you do) you should try it smiley - ok

Morning everyone. It is a bit warmer in Little DooDah today, but the promised sunshine hasn't arrived.

Imp, concerning the moderated post, it's possible it will still reappear. Things moderated over the weekend take longer to be evaluated by the PTB.

Waves to BB and Tod. Better late than never.

I think I'm a summer. Or used to be. With my hair turning silver on me, all bets are off.

I want to add that I'm quite pleased with the shade of gray my hair is becoming. My mom is a redhead. Her hair turned an unpleasant yellowish gray. Lady C's hair was following Mother's pattern. Mine is turning a pretty silvery gray like my dad's did. I got his hair color with my mom's eyes and skin tone.

Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.")

Morning all.

It rained last night, then it froze, now it's snowing.

Phantom Mod: smiley - ghostsmiley - mod

I'd never have gessed Cream for the song, my thought was Bernard Cribbins. Presumably from before the days when Eric Clapton believed his reviews. I was very disappointed when I saw him at Earls Court but BB King joined him for the encores and out-played him in every way. That did lead me to seeing BB King in a garden in Hamburg which was one of my best gigs ever.

>> I'm trying to do a soundtrack of my life on my ipod

One of my favourite presents was a couple of CDs with the number ones for every birthday from 0-40.

>> Do you think salonistas would like a little themed musical teaser now and then?

Definitely, but how about putting the question up on a Friday and the answer on a Monday? I had a husband hogging the PC all weekend. (*Sticks tongue out at Z*)

smiley - tea

Am feeling virtuous. All my presents are bought and the tree is up and decorated. Actually, I still have two presents to buy, one for my 19 year old niece and the other for my 17 year old nephew. I might get them book tokens, or I might wander around the small arty-shops in town on Monday. 17 year old boys are tricksy things. What is cool? (Is he cool?)

It turns out the town has a small but excellent farmers' market. Z bought some waxed cheese for his brother, and then I spotted they had truckles of cheese for £12, so we bought one for his parents. And then went round the market and decided to buy another truckle of cheese for the friends we are staying with at the weekend. And then put our goodies in the car park and decided to pop back and get another truckle of cheese for my sister. The cheese man was really quite cheery the fourth time he saw us.

Oh, and the chap selling vegetables looked like a comedy-yokel out of Extras-R-Us, with baggy tweeds and awesomely muddy hands. The only thing missing was straw in his hat. The genuine article though: you don't get teeth that bad without years of effort.

Right. Things to do, blogs to post.

Ben

PPS - FG, yellow and most shades of brown make me look as if I've not washed for a week. I am best in bright colours and second best in rich ones. Pastels make me look smiley - ghost at best and smiley - skull at worst.

Wow, a soundtrack for my life? Too complicated. I just try to keep the music playing. smiley - musicalnote

I'm not sure about the color thing, but I love earth tones and avoid pastels. smiley - artistsmiley - diva

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013

I don't care what that site says, yellow doesn't suit anyone except Africans with that wonderful blue-black skin, and green is very difficult too. I'm a spring tending to summer - with touches of autumn. Definitely not winter thoiugh, and I hardly ever wear white (unless it is the foil for another colour) and never black (except trpousers).

Wish you'd mentioned that present a month ago Ben, I'd have done that for mum's 60th. Will save the idea for Dad's 65th...

Kelli, I suspect it takes a longish time to put together that sort of present. And it was done while Napster was still around..

>> does 17 have a games console...?

I don't know. My sister and her husband are odd smiley - fish so he might be the only middle class London male teenager without one. I'll ask.
