Ahh... it all becomes clear now (pun intended).

I'm actually relatively quite today. *hides from sudden attack of things to do*. All my patients are fairly healthy and we don't have any major operations to do today.
I could go to theatre and watch, but I really really hate watching operations. They are so dull.
Have a bit of a cash flow problem but I am struggling to sort it out because I just can't get to the bank this week to sort it out.
Will someone remind me why I'm buying a house again. Solictors are expensive people, and I'm awfully tempted to try and do conveyencing myself with a book, but frankly I don't know what conveyencing is.

Subconscious desire to bring down the average age of first-time buyers in this country?

Z, you don't want to mess around with what is probably your biggest investment ever. That lawyer will insure that you end up with clear title to the property. And if he doesn't, you can sue him!
Hati, I knew about that ferry tragedy, of course, but I'd never read an in depth time line of the events. That was so sad.

I am 23! Not that young. And it probably won't complete before my 24th Birthday. Mind you I might buy jointly with A and he's a year younger than me.

WM: I do understand that it's not really a lot of money compared to what I'm spending on the house..

I know that 23 going on 24 isn't that young but last time I looked the average age of a first time buyer in the UK was 38!

Really? That's makes me feel a lot better. I'm the fourth person in my real life friendship group to buy a house so I don't think of myself as particually young.

Mrs. D and I are starting to seriously look at houses, we've got a deposit of about £10,000 stashed away, but we've still got about five months left on the flat.

Hmm, a 325 post backlog. Not too bad, and I'm sure at least fifty per cent of them were about olives...
Some LEDs back, there was a brief discussion of sexual matters, and I thought the spoof Christian love song 'Something About You' might prove enjoyable to the Salonistas. It can be found here: http://www.freakymartian.com/cheyenne/SomethingAboutYou.ram and if you want more info on the source of this delightful parody, see http://www.altarboyz.com (NB, yes, I am a Christian, and find that this song is funnier if you are than if you aren't).
I have remembered that I regard olive oil as an important kitchen item, but still hold firm to my dislike of the actual fruits.
I do like spinach, though I've never thought of it as pretty (Hyp's description).
On the and
subject, my friend's guide dog (gorgeous black lab) gets on very well with his two little feline brothers, and also got on reasonably well with the cat they had when he first started training with my friend. Guide dogs are a bit different, though, I suppose. Less likely to eat other creatures for no apparent reason. That sort of thing. He certainly doesn't mind regular visits from this owl, although he did once knock me over in his enthusiasm when playing.

And lest I forget (which I did), congrats to the house-buying people. I hope it all goes well.
Over the weekend, I had a couple of very odd dreams. One involved me teaching Sunday School and going on for far too long (though everyone was enjoying it, which proved it was a dream). When we took the kids back to the main church area, the building had grown considerably and there were endless corridors and staircases.
The second (which was actually the first one I had), was very odd. I saw someone commit arson and informed the police, so the person came and attacked me, trying to set both me and my house alight. I was OK, but my house wasn't and it was all very disturbing. A particularly odd thing is that the dream involved a number of Salonistas, who were all very helpful and supportive.
*turns round the Salon indicating various people, saying 'You were there. And you. And you...'*
I very rarely remember dreams, but am assuming they're not significant in any way.
I enjoyed Thorpe Park, and only felt a bit guilty that we got to jump many of the queues as I was with a disabled friend and was therefore classed as her helper.

*hoping she was a supportive dream-salonista* I love those dreams that feature long rambling interiors, when I have them. I love coming around corners and finding interesting things, even though I never remember what the interesting things were.
My contract still hasn't arrived.

Whenever I dream about the city I live in it always looks like the Los Angeles of "Blade Runner".
One of our original Salonistas had his 24th birthday yesterday! Let's hear it for Sporky!

Lil, yes, you were there. Also present were Hyp, Teuchter, Z and some others. As you do in dreams, I instinctively knew who people were, even in the cases when I don't really know what you look like.

FG, that is, indeed, an odd landscape!
Sporky, happy belated! Goodness. Is there anything in particular you would like? I'm so bad with gifts...

I wouldn't call my cocker spaniel, Cooper, dumb but he can certainly be... hmmm. Okay, let's just say he's an incredibly clever dog (too smart for his own good!) who can do incredibly stupid things (like scratch at a spot until he's worn off all the fur).

Hmmm, the LEDs on the side are acting all wonky and I assumed my post was coming after GDZ's on the previous page.
Anywho, that m&c will go to extremely good use. Or bad, if you're my waistline. I will enjoy it!
Ta to the well wishers.
