My old ArtPad II is going to benefit the cyber-nephew; it's been spoken for for many months. I was just on the list, wondering what to do about the transformer, but I have the answer, and part number, so all's well.

Why not give the Graphire a try, for a starter tablet? They're coloured like iMacs, have 512 pressure sensitivity levels, and come with cordless pen, no-balled mouse and a copy of Painter Classic. One hundred dollah, or something like 65 quid over on the island. That's what Pastey said they cost.

I used to occasionally shop at Computer City, and I REALLY had to want something to go there, because invariably something would go wrong or strange at checkout time, or there wouldn't be enough staff for more than one checkout line and at the head of the line there would be some citrus farmer's wife returning a complete system because she didn't know how to make it work....

More tea anyone?

*grins .... I stopped going to Fry's for the exact same reason. Luckily I still have contacts in the wholesale market from when I was a hardware geek, so I generally get good quality equipment at resonable prices, with no hassle*

I would love some more tea.

I live in Vermont- no computer cities around here. Just trees, icecream, and cows.

Ah, but you have online shopping!
Vermont is a beautiful place. I used to spend the summer way up in the Penobscot Bay area of Maine, on Deer Isle. I miss the northeast, in summer anyway.

My dad goes to geek shows and buys technology real cheap before it hits the mass market. I was the first one on my *metaphorical* block with a CD burner and they all wanted me to burn them pirated Britney Spears mp3s. Ha, right.

I got a CD burner late last year and have been using it for image backup and giving copies of finished work to clients, but it was just this past week I started using it for music.

*brings tea in from kitchen* Ioreth, you want tea, OJ, mineral water?

Pulp-free FL OJ, if you please. Thank you.

So what's happening in Florida?

I don't like the pulp either.

In Florida? Drought. Fires. A shuttle due down in a couple of days, which always freaks out my dobermann, those sonic booms.

Here in Pennsylvania it is rainy. Not even a nice downpour - just constantly dripping. Annoying, after a week of it.

But good for the corn.

Good point... I never really appreciate the agriculture around here.

Did you know there are more horses than Jews in the county I live in? Well, no, of course not, but still.

When I went to Methacton there were no black students and two Jewish ones, brothers. That was in the 60's. The working classes were the Italian Catholics from Norristown. *shakes her head*

I need to go offline for a while -- I'll be back in a couple of hours.

Ah, the Captain came back, very good.
Real life really exists, I'm afraid, but I've joined a support group to try to deal with it.

I wonder what's so special about Swedish mosh pits?
Ferrari must be happy or we'd know about it. *looks at Mindspring curled up on the hearth rug* But sloths are immune to rock music, I guess. You can stay right there, Springie.

Well, anyone is welcome to hang out and chat, but I have to get up early.

*comes out of private apartments and finds Ook asleep on her back and a note from Phil on the table*

Ho, Phil's been by. *holds still a moment* And silence from the Nephew Suite. And silence from downstairs. Just wind in the trees of the brand new forest on Mt. Sandeverest...

I wonder where Ferrari is?

*picks up the sleepy Springie and carries her out to the kitchen to feed her*
