Nice intro. smiley - ok
Meanwhile I managed to visit another zoo. The favourite moments from both visits can be found at http://www.pilt.ee/moira Riga Zoo and Korkeasaari (which is the name of the island where Helsinki zoo is located on).

Lil, I'll take some of that rain. September has been the fifth driest month in our area since they started keeping records of such things.

Fantastic pictures there Hati. I like the frogs.

The frogs were the reason we went to Latvia at the first place. They have a nice collection of frogs there. The photos are taken through the glass, so the quality isn't too good, though.

smiley - ok Great frogs and invertebrates even more scary than me smiley - wow. I like the bird you've labelled 'King.' I'll think what they're called in a moment. Some sort of crane, I think.

Horizon was good tonight. Well worth catching on Worldwide or BBC America if you can. It was about synaesthesia and some tests for it can be found on http://www.bbc.co.uk/sn/tvradio/programmes/horizon/index.shtml

I seem to associate sounds with colours but not words or numbers.

Are those your children in some of the non-zoo pictures, Hati? The two little girls in the final frames have lovely hair. I did a deep conditioning treatment for my hair in the shower this morning, but I don't think it helped much. smiley - sadface My hair is still frizzy on the ends.

Hi all!

You got my size right! And it's a great shade of blue, why it's close to being superintelligent even! This is great. Thank you so much!

Sea, what's the deal with the Gubernator? First he messes with the ferrets, then he outlaws forced feeding of geese for fois gras. Is he trying to appeal to the liberals or the conservatives? I can't figure it out.

I've thought of a great cabinet treatment for my kitchen - I'm going to collage the cabinets with food pictures from magazines, interspersed with random good-looking recipes. Then I'm going to find flea-market knives, forks and spoons, attach them to cheap metal handles with epoxy, and I'll have some food-correct cabinets for the kitchen.

That's an interesting idea Lentilla, can't see myself using it though.

I wouldn't even bother, but the kitchen cabinets are a flat, white and boring expanse at the moment. One of those 50's style kitchens where they didn't even bother to put molding on the doors! So basically, I could put just about anything across the front of them, as long as I allowed for the cabinet door edges.

Time for our first quiz! This one is aimed mainly at Americans but...

You are disciplined but tolerant; a true American.

I started taking that quiz, but I found the slant of the questions to be leading me toward things I don't agree with.

Finally I had a decent night at bowling. The first game was horrid but I made up for it. 121 185 198. It's always good to improve through the night.

Marv, I'm not familiar with the works of Neal Stephenson, but I know that weird printing errors are always good for book value. Which book was it with the map turned upside down?
