The touchpad annoys me. I can use it, but it seems to take three times as long to navigate around the screen. Especially a 20-inch screen.

I've never seen them burst through the windows at 33,000 feet, thanks Bob!
Just "had to" work my way through a business lunch in Madrid. We're talking a small beer for starters, a nice starter with various fungi & then some lo-ve-ly lamb chops that I was berated for eating with knife and fork instead of with my fingers. Accompanied with 1½ glass of nice Spanish red. Oh, and a cafe solo that had my American colleague looking like he didn't know what hit him

We'll have to wait and see. This is the second time in this thread. Have they beefed up the auto-censor?

“Go! Go! Go!”

“Would you like meat, fish or the vegetarian option? Answer me, scumbag!”
Meeces: optical USB with two buttons and a scroll wheel at home. PS/2 with two buttons and no scroll wheel at w*rk, I keep going for the non-existant wheel out of habit and end up looking like I’m stroking the mouse. Hell, at least the ball and rollers were clean when I started which is something I’ve never before encountered in an office mouse.
Dashed chilly in Swindon today. Luckily it's been dry recently so no stealth ice on the slope down to the underpass I go through to get to the bus stop.

I dislike touchpads, which is why my laptop has a "Laser Mouse" attached. I find the scrollwheel a very useful addition to the mouse, but balk at the idea of five buttons; that's why you have a keyboard.

It's been lovely in Cheshire this afternoon - very chilly start, though had to scrape the car. Clear skies, glorious sunshine - we even took the kids out this afternoon and I didn't need me coat! Temperatures are right down again now though...oh well, car scraping again on morrow.

Yes, that's the other thing about the emergency backup mouse here at work. Not only no scrollwheel, but it isn't optical.Any more, a mouse tail drives me crazy. So does a thumb button on the side of the mouse. I have to keep it disabled.
So what do you do with 5 buttons?
Does anyone else remember the Dilbert cartoon where the South American monkey discovers it has an evolutionary advantage? It could use its tail to operate the mouse while typing with both hands.

Lil, have you tried messing with the sensitivity settings on your trackpad? You can often make the cursor move faster or slower depending. 'Course, if it isn't a Mac I may be talking out my rear end, since I have no idea how other companies' laptops work.
President's Day here in the U.S. Or at least I hope it is, or I'm very, very late for work. Last time I checked, we had snow forecast for Thursday. Now, instead, the forecast is saying rain for Wednesday, sun on Thursday. I want to plant a potted garden, but I don't want to put it out on my balcony thinking that spring is coming, only to find we re-freeze... My thumbs are brown enough as it is.

I have a 5 button mouse at work. The usual left and right click on top, a forward and back thumb toggle for internet browsing, and in front of the toggle is a magnifier button. Hate that last one, I never ~want~ to use it, but I keep hitting it instead of the forward toggle.

2 buttons, 1 scroll wheel - at work, a mouse tailed one - at home, an optical one (still with tail, but will work on any surface).
4 year old Swedish kid turns out to be a of a drummer. His father is a musician and says his son has been drumming on anything since the age of 1½:

According to an interview in the Stockholm Metro, the first attempt of filming Jonathan was ruined when he stopped drumming to pick his nose for a while... so this is the second attempt.
Personally, I'm glad to see that he has a sensible father who wants to protect his son's hearing.

My laptop has a touchpad, I can use it but I prefer a mouse, currently it has a 2 button mouse but with a tracker ball instead of a scroll wheel.
In normal use the ball acts like a scroll wheel but if I click the ball and right button combination it becomes a true tracker ball which is useful when I haven't got much space.
This lapdog also has a touch screen but I haven't managed to set it up under linux yet, the great driver hunt is still under way.
