Hum-te-hum-te-hum...
Let's see... Caerwynn, I've always summoned cats by the sound of a can opener. Doesn't matter what you're opening - the sound is enough.
Amy, I think the magnetic field of the earth is about to flip, and we're all experiencing a sense of malaise and discontent. Or something!
Kelli, definitely take as many training opportunities as you can. On the job training is worth ten hours of classwork, and if you want to work after maternity, you'll need it.
FG - hang in there - men aren't worth the tears, but we give them so many!

Retrograde Mercury can have strange effects on communications, depending on what sign it's in. It's traditionally considered a good time in which to re-do things that you didn't do properly/thoroughly the first time, but not a good time to initiate new projects.
But it all depends on your own personal chart, how this affects you, and you'd have to be aware of retrogrades and remember to watch what happens over a period of years before you could generalise.
Some people tend naturally to withdraw a little bit and do deep housecleaning (those with lots of Virgo in their charts). Some feel alienated as if their sense of connection with others has gone awry. Some fail to read fine print because they are distracted (hence the traditional caveat about not signing contracts during a retrograde). Some people think deeper than usual, which can bring on either depression or the next novel.
I don't have much problem with retrogrades, but the period afterwards when the planet seems to be retracing its footsteps forward, now that period an really mess me up.

And we had violent thunderstaorms earlier this even, in which lightning struck the Schoolhouse Gallery and took a tree down in front of a nearby house. I may not see any perseids.

Cassie is definitely feeling out of sorts, meeuuwing loudly to let me know that is a bit off that she isn't allowed out, whilst giving me The Look. Lentilla, if she doesn't want to come in, she won't, rattling the biscuit box has worked on every cat I've ever had, even Sadie and she was a singular animal, but if Cassie is busy hunting she just won't respond. *sigh* I think the v-e-t is in for a tough time, she will need two jabs and worming pills, no v-e-t there has ever dared even attempt to take her temperature!
I stepped out last night to look for the Perseids (why does that sound like an race out of Star Trek?) into a rain storm, so hastily stepped back in.
The retrograde thing makes me even more absent minded than usual. I hope tody is a little easier for those wading through treacle

I'm sure Mrs SG V would be if she heard that the planets might make me more absentminded - I don't think she believes that to be possible...
No shooting stars for me last night, either... I think it was somewhat cloudy, but anyway my eyelids were far too closed for watching anything.

That Mercury has a lot to answer for! And may account for this sudden, strange urge I have to sort-out my pig-sty of a house.
I don't normally 'do' housework, bar the essential plague-prevention activities. There always seems to be something much more interesting requiring my attention.
I was shocked to hear yesterday that they've been putting mercury in the vaccines which are given to infants and small children Apparently it's in there as an 'inhibitor'.
*sits back and waits for Z to explain properly.
I know some work has been done which confirms that it is possible to develop an allergy to mercury - this has been proved histologically.
Alas, I have a mouthful of mercury amalgam restorations, courtesy of a mis-spent youth sans fluoride toothpaste.
Apologies for dragging the thread back to dentistry 'yet again'.
*grabs self by scruff of neck and administers shake "You're off for two days T, forget the teeth already.

all round it seems
MC decided to take today off and so set the alarm clock for the middle of the night only to be woken up and find it raining. So no perseids for her last night.

Ulrike the homeopath told me a while ago that mercury and other metals are used with vaccines to kick the immune system into responding. Dead vaccines are inert, and would be ignored.
I am applying to Bristol University to do a part-time (very part-time) MSc in Strategic Management. I am re-writing my CV to make it relavent to the application, which is extremely time-consuming, and starting to contact people to ask for a sanity check and references and stuff.
Scareeee

[Munchkin. Apologies for not being here for a while but things and stuff and things keep getting in the way. Ah if only I were wealthy enough to travel the world with a constant internet connection. ]

I will be going away for a nice long weekend in the country in, ooh, 5 or 6 hours. Weather forecast - rain. Don't chat too much while I'm away - I'd never catch up!

with that!
*happily gift wraps the from Kelli to bring along later*
Strategic management is certainly an interesting topic. I'm exposed to a good blend of tactical and strategic marketing these days - think I'll happily stay on this level for quite a long while before taking the strategics further up the ladder

We saw teh nice Vet today, who has a tortie too, he says Cassie is a fine, fit, healthy animal and I have done very well to get her weight down by 1 kilo in a year. She had 3 jabs, tummy checked for lumps and bumps, mouth checked and he even managed to listen to her chest through the growls. Understandably, he dodged the temperature check and suggested I might like to give the worming tablets in something tasty at home, as he didn't fancy losing a finger just yet. He has a lovely soft Scottish accent, but not soothing enough for Cassie.
I returned her home, unlocked the cat flap and then took myself into town for a little retail therapy. Which resulted in me not finding anything I liked in M&S at all, but 3 tops in Next. Sol, remember I said I had seen a girlie wearing pretty shoes on my way to the meet? Ballet pump fronts with a tiny kitten heel? Well, they had some very similar in Next, too low fronted for me sadly.
When I finlly got home for a Cassie came in and sat on my knee, so I hope she has forgiven me.

Cats are fickle masters, (or mistresses) aren't they?
This is someone new from the same dating site. He says he is 'passing through' my town tonight, (yeah, right), and I confess I like the look of him. He is tall, which always helps. But vegetarian and green-minded, so I am probably too uncouth for him.
Still, it beats watching tv.

Well this is all a first for me. If I wasn't so comfortable on the internet, I probably wouldn't be doing it. Answering ads in personal columns seems scareeeee.

Dating? What's that? I've been with the same chap since I was seventeen, I have no idea what how where one dates.
On a more meteorological note, I will be in the country up a hill surrounded by splendid darkness tonight and I am looking forward to seeing the Perseids so much and it's RAINING
Ooh, did anyone else notice my clever pun I've only just noticed myself?

Hmm, fascinating stuff about retrogrades. Maybe *that's* why I'm having so much trouble summoning up the energy to finish my new Guide Entry.
