Hello, all.
I am way behind as usual! Church weddings. Hmm, they vary. I've been to lots, due to being a chorister during my childhood and also due to having lots of Christian friends! Sorry your experience of a C of E wedding wasn't too great, Kelli. They're not normally that bad! I've been to plenty that have been joyful, relaxed occasions with plenty of clapping and so on.
Catheter went alright. The doctors got the information they need and I'm just glad it's over! I'm a bit bruised (maybe "a bit" is an understatement!), so not doing much for the moment.

LibrarianPear, I'm glad to hear the procedure went well. I hope you don't feel too sore.
Are you up to this morning's festivities? We're about to have an investiture, followed by a party and barbeque out on the terrace. It's a dress-up event, so you need to be in your best clothes (have a look at the last few posts in the previous LED).

Glad to see you back, LP. Take it easy for a few days to give your body time to heal properly.

*Lil enters the salon wearing her best goo velvet gown, her healthstone on a black ribbon choker. Her chignon is immaculate, her cowboy boots discreet. As if on cue, the service elevator opens and a unit of CLI servicebots in white tie troop in and stand against the wall. Any salonista looking though the french windows will see that round tables and ice cream chairs have been set all around on the terrace, with grills and serving tables up at the far end*
Ladies, gentlemen and entities, I will be as brief as I can without disrespect to the people I honor today.
As I said when I began this thread, H2G2 elders certainly deserve respect for their long service to the community, and they will always have a position of honor at our table. I would, however, like to continue what I began when I knighted Sir Marv, of proffering special recognition to members of the salon for reasons that become evident as I read out this Atelier Honors List.
Sir Marv! With this coronet, I elevate you to Viscount. In the British tradition I task you to say what your name shall be. You may wish to be known as Lord Marv, or as Marv, Lord Grate, or whatever you feel best suits your position and accomplishments. You retain the right to append KEA to your name.
Sporky! I dub you Sir Sporkulious the Reticent, Lazy B*****d, Knight Extraordinaire of the Atelier. You have been with the atelier from the very first thread. Although you are usually too lazy to leave more than a calling card, , your steadfastness is exemplary. I hope you will design your coat of arms and present them at the salon in due course.
Witty Moniker! I dub you Dame Witty Moniker the Multifaceted, Hootoo Aboriginal, Knight Extraordinaire of the Atelier. Salonistas, just take a look at her personal space and see how far-ranging this salonista is. We have all observed her even temperament and her adventuring talent. You too are requested to think up a coat of arms that you feel represents you.
Titania! You are a queen in Elfdom, and therefore have no lust for more titles, I'm sure. But over the years I cannot think of anyone, besides our tireless Madame President, who has travelled so far and often to meet with other Hootooers and salonistas. I hope you will accept this knighthood: I dub you Dame Titania the Traveller, Queen of Elves, Knight Extraordinaire of the Atelier. As with the other newly vested, please present us with your coat of arms at your pleasure.
Be sure that if Amy Ant were still among us I would be honoring her as well today. Let's hope for the day she comes back to rejoin her old companions.

I beg the privelege of leading the first toast. To the Atelier!

* notices that Matina has organised the placement of a well cushioned chaise-longue for LP
Glad the procedure went well, LP - and I hope the bruising settles quickly
Ok. I'm assuming CLI has arranged for the weather to be absolutely perfect for this investiture so I don't need to garb myself in the usual layers of clothing necessary for this sort of event in the UK.

Lil, honored nobility, and my dear salonista friends.....a toast to the Atelier. Long may we find refuge here.
Now, there is a quite lavish buffet set up on the patio. The grills are hot and I'm ready to cook steaks and ribs, burgers and brats, shrimp and lobster. We also have enough salads and vegetable dishes for everyone to find something to their liking. As always, the bar is fully stocked and if there is something additional you require, just ask Houndstooth, who will do his best to secure it for you.

Thank you, Phil - I enjoyed that.
