Chico 
has gone awol after last night's storm. It is very unlike him not to show up screaming for his breakfast. He's the oldest of my kitties but hasn't seemed ill or anything. Just a litle cranky lately with Minerva.

Half an inch of ice! All we've had is dust storms.
This laptop may be for the junk heap. I left updates running all night and several failed, so SP2 had to uninstall itself, leaving the paging file whacked. And the directories are corrupted somehow. I'm doing a deep scan now for bad sectors now. *wonders if she should take the laptop into the lab instead of whinging about it here*

Phew, I'm back. We had an internet outage apparently caused by new housemate turning off the socket that the router is plugged into. Unfortunately he hasn't properly moved in yet and so wasn't around to turn it back on. Had to get the landlord to let us in.

I thought they had to be a particular type (not nationality, mind you) of chestnut, d'E. You mean I can just pick up any old horse chestnut on the sidewalk and roast it? 
The black mufty stuff on corn, Hyp? Surely you're not talking about huitlacoche? ::shudders::

Yep, that's what I meant. 
Chestnuts have a similar flavor. Sort of musky, musty, earthy, someone should really wash these kind of flavor.
Hey, he liked other rather disgusting things like periwinkles. Used to fish them out of their shells with a hatpin. 
And he would suck the heads on crayfish.

I came home for lunch and to pick up Annie. Chico is here, trying to get me to give him my lunch. He isn't the least bit concerned that he caused me to worry.
