Caer, my boys do that sometimes too. But tonight they're both sleeping very well, having gotten a new catnip sock!

Morning all!
I get the feeling I am quite unusual as a bloke who quite often puts effort into his clothes. Ninety percent of the time I am as I am now, hard wearing trousers, a well washed shirt and some shoes in need of a good clean. But then occasionally I will get all smarted up and the hats come out. I definately seem to do it more often than most guys I know and anyone who has seen me at a Hootoo meet will appreciate what I mean. One of the reasons I ran the convention last month was for the dressing side of things. I think I look damn good in a Straw Boater and Blazer. smiley - bigeyes

Feeling better - had some sleep and a very long heart-to-heart with a girlfriend whose situation almost mirrors mine. (She sent me a text at 11.00pm saying 'are you awake' and we hung up at 1.00am). As a result I didn't get masses and masses of sleep, but problems shared, and all that.

I am heap impressed with Mozilla. Opera I found to be too clunky and taking up too much real-estate on the screen. Now if anyone can advise me of an Outlook Express equivalent I'd be happy.

Incidentally - some people have wa-a-a-a-ay too much time on their hands:

Yup someone has too much time when they do things like that!

I can do smart when the occasion warrants it, it's just that most of the time it doesn't and so comfort and practicality come out tops. Though moving some very dirty/dusty computer equipment when wearing light coloured chinos and white t shirts isn't such a good idea.

Quiz time! This predicts the time in the day when you'll be most tired. http://www.knackerfactor.co.uk/

Titania (gone for lunch)

'You will start to feel noticeably tired at 14:00 and you will feel most tired at 16:00' Fairly accurate - I don't get as much done at w*rk in the afternoon as I do before lunch...

I've only got one piercing in each ear. It was a sloppy work by a salon that seemed reputable(?) but one hole points more outwards than the other, which is only noticeable if I wear dangling ear rings.

I got an infection in one hole which was very unpleasant, and after that I've never felt the urge to get any more piercings.

Tattoo - I've been tempted to have one for a long time, but have yet to find a design that would feel 'right' for me.

As ProPlus is a caffeine product aimed at stressed professionals, I wonder what percentage are not knackered between 14:00 and 16:00. I'm always knackered, but that's me 'ormones.

I have banned H from taking that stuff, it gives him stomach pains and interferes with his sleep pattern.

I don't know what ntl are up to today, but the connection is naff. Still, Sony are doing some huge updates to Star Wars Galaxies, so I probably won't get a chance to play anyway until tonight anyway.

Hmm interesting little quiz there. I think it seems about right for me most days. That mid afternoon tiredness thing which does get me. Not tired enough to feel sleepy but tired enough to start feeling a bit lethargic, and there it was just me thinking I usually end up doing more carbs at lunch and so getting a BG high mid afternoon (and feeling tired because of that).

smiley - boing I'm off on a course next week. First time I've been on a training course for ages and it's one that I want to do. The course is the cisco ICND course smiley - ok

No wonder I get the urge to take an afternoon nap fairly often.

I have to disagree, I typically feel most tired in the late morning hours.

You will start to feel noticeably tired at 15:30 and you will feel most tired at 15:30. smiley - huh

The diagram showed me tired from 11.00 - 18.00 which I actually think is inaccurate. It takes me a while to get up to speed, but I am rolling along between 11.00 and 18.00. Also, I mistrust an approach which is basically 'take our drugs' rather than 'eat light at night and get to bed early' and notice your blood sugar levels during the day.

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence

I got the same answer as Ben smiley - huh, but the graph looked about right.

Jury duty lasted from 8 till a bit past 2 in the afternoon, and the reason I was so tired was that I spent most of it sitting still in a windowless room full of people. I drew seat #4, which is actually in the jury box, and I was certain that I was going to be selected, but I got dismissed. Thinking about it, I realise that the prosecuting attorney threw me off because I said something that might have been construed as sympathetic to the defense case, regarding the conditions on Route 70.

The case is a DUI, expired license, no insurance, causing bodily harm (to a preacher who runs a DWI clinic!!) and driving on the wrong side of the road. The defendant spoke no English.

A number of potential jurors were excused because they had prejudice against the case and believed the defendant guilty from the get-go.

My remarks had to do with the extreme difficulty of knowing where you were at certain times of day on a stretch of road which was a forest of cones and had lots of restriping done, so I thought it plausible that a person could become disoriented there, but I avowed that this would not affect my ability to judge the case on its merits.

The prosecutor didn't believe me, and that rankles a bit.

Anyway, that's the end of jury duty for the next three years. smiley - smiley

Caer, I had to admit that Pro Plus happens to me when I can't afford Red Bull. The amount of caffine in a pro plus tablet is only about the same a a very strong expresso, however I'm sure I've heard (from a tutor who specialised in aviation medicine) that the effect of caffine in coffee lasts longer for some reason. I haven't got the study myself, so I'm not sure. But he was fairly convinced!

Lil - that sucks I'm exempt from Jury duty but I'd still go if I was called because it would be facsinating! Except here it's much harder to get thrown of a jury.

Just had a lecture on STIs and I'm pleased to say that I still find them fascinating! Which is good as it's one of the things I want to do when I grow up.

"You will start to feel noticeably tired at 15:00 and you will feel most tired at 15:00."

That sounds about right. 'Round about 3pm in the afternoon at work I wander in search of caffeine (diet soda or iced tea) or fresh air to combat a major case of the sleepies.
