Hope you feel better soon Lil.

lil, hope you feel better. if at any point you feel like you're being twisted in half and can't breathe, that would be your gall bladder.
I know.
Easter witches?

Oh, Lil. Get well soon!
The reason for the pork pies is simple, MR, "porkie pie" is cockney rhyming slang for "lie".
Gotta go now. I am still aware that I have missed the whole of the backlog.

Lil, get well soon. I know that's easy for us to say, though it may seem contrary to what you're feeling right now. I'll keep you in prayer and believe with you that the awesomely made body that God gave you will kick into Virus Fighting Mode and boot the sickness out.
There must be truth to the proverb "a merry heart doeth good, like a medicine" (Prov 17:22), because I've seen great improvement in sick folks who've been treated to some fun. Perhaps we could post some of our funniest experiences, or just jokes, and that could tide Lil over and speed her recovery.

I always wondered about the pork pie smiley.
Lil, be better quickly. It's been a season of illness around me it seems. I get sick, then my dad does, as soon as he is better my mom does.

No sudden acute fever or specific pains. It's going away except for residual gut ache. Oh, the simple things feel wonderful, like brushing one's teeth...

Do remember to drink plenty of fluids, though I know it's difficult if you can't keep them down. You can get that oral rehyrdation stuff from the chemist which is really useful if you've lost a lot of fluid. (Drinking lots of water doesn't always make gastroentrities get better - esp if you don't keep it down but it does stop you getting dehyrdrated.)
If you're vomiting a lot try to eat a lot of bananas as they're meant to be high in pottassium (whether or not this works in anything a textbook I'm not sure - but it's worth a go).
Not that it's any use because I suspect you're in bed at the moment not reading that.

Easter witches have been described very well in Astrid Lindgren's book Bullerby's Kids (or however they may call it in English).

I did those things, yes, water and bananas.
And tea.
The only bad part now, apart from the sore abdomen, is...
*moves to other side of room and flicks on a small fan*
.. this horrifying flatulence. Even the cats won't stay in bed with me because the covers keep levitating. I'm keeping a candle burning so the house won't explode.

from a safe distance due to the wonders of the net. Glad you're feeling better now Lil.
BTW I have never found the need to use a smilie...

Hang on - surely Easter witches must be familiar to Americans as well? How else do you explain this picture? (I think it was one of the Salonistas that provided a link to this long ago, and then I downloaded it and lost the original link):
