I like that joke, ltp.
I was too weary to post much last night, so I shall say 'Welcome' to KiltedJedi now
It is cold and bright at the moment, with possible wintry showers later. Cassie has been sitting under the table with her mouth open. I told the vet that cutting down any more on her food would have her snacking in the garden, to which the vet replied 'at least it would be low fat snacks'. It seems she has to stay on the light Science Diet until we can feel Cassie's ribs easily

She is most put out, G7, I've had to stop giving her Whiskas pate, which she adores. I never gave her more than one pouch at her evening meal time and she rarely has treats. She is also very active so all I can say is there are more calories than needed in one pouch.
Also the laptop has upset her and when Cassie finally found my lap free last night and jumped up before anything else usurped her, she sat there looking at me in exactly the same way that Limbo does in one of Lil's photos. It was distinctly unnerving. The Look I can cope with but The Stare is scary!
I'd better get off to the gym before my resolve weakens.

It's Half Term here (a week after the rest of the country) so what shall I do?
Hmm. Shall I work out how to spend my payrise? Teachers get the same all over the country and our pay is no secret. It's reported as being 2.5% rise but that's only on the basic teacher bit of my salary. All management allowances are frozen since they are to be abolished. Someone worked it out for me and said that this makes our rise about 2.2%. Anyone know the UK rate of inflation?
Or shall I celebrate the fact that my dentist has decided to take me on as an NHS patient? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3499215.stm (She told me this *after* I'd had my scale and polish as a private patient, of course!)

Oh dear, I have just broken a china model of a lighthouse, nothing expensive just a bit of tourist ware we bought in New England. But it was the only thing H chose to bring home, I don't suppose he will be upset particularly but I shall still have to tell him.
Having had the discussion on cutting fingers on tins, I have managed to slice my thumb whilst washing out a baked bean tin before putting it in the recycling bin.

I'm going to be away most of the next few days -- I have a great number of tasks to get through and jury duty commences tomorrow.
Kiltedjedi, welcome!

Sorry to hear about jury duty and your busy schedule, Lil. We'll miss you, but we'll take good care of the Atelier.

Hi guys, I feel for Cassie as well - fat cats look so much better as well!
I've got back from an PRHO jobs open day at hospital X - and now know I don't want to work there. It seemed perfect, good training, terrible hours (meaning good ) but the hospital is a PFI built and has a private ward, and the juniors have to provide emergency cover during the night. So I don't think I want to work there. Though I may be cutting off my nose to spite my face.

Titania, the way I read your dream I'd say that your brain is trying to tell you that you've forgotten something, something that you are convinced that you haven't.
But then again, we're all psychoanalysts, aren't we?
