That sucks kelli, look into the privacy screen for sure.
Taking J to meet my maternal grandparents after classes today, should go well since my grandparents are very much like hers.

Wouldn't a privacy screen tip the PTB off to the fact that non-work related stuff *might* be going on?

Agapanthus Posted Sep 20, 2006
Kelli could quite sensibly point out that as she is so near the door, a privacy screen is essential to prevent stray visitors/ people from other departments/ clients/ what-have-you getting a peek at any confidential or important work she might be doing and insist the company buys her the privacy screen to protect their OWN interests. Or give her a nicer desk.
Afternoon, everyone. I HAVE read the backlog. I just can't think of any intelligent, sensible or amusing things to add or points to make. I'm just nodding along, here.

people usually get privacy screens ok'd by management by saying that it reduces the glare (which it does)

Both SE and Agapanthus have very valid points to put to management. I particularly like the one about security for the firm. That one should go over well.

Wow, Kew Gardens has just grown some plants from 200 year old seeds!
Some paperwork was misplaced and stored away, a researcher came across the seeds in an envelope by accident. I think some of the plants were ferns.

<< I think some of the plants were ferns.
Figures. Aren't ferns and horsetails the oldest plants on earth? Means some of them had to make it through that brouhaha about 65 million years ago...
Kelli, push the confidentiality angle; lots of firms are finding this a sticky point these days. And I'd ask to trade desks or get someone to rearrange the placement - you're preggers and it's too stressful, you might get startled or something, can't have that!

A mirror does work wonders, btw. All the people here at work who have to face away from the door have them. Personally I can't stand somebody looking over my shoulder.
Well, off to go work out.

"A mirror does work wonders,",
even better if that mirror fails to show your reflection, that also tends to keep people away.

Those were all excellent ideas regarding mirrors (particularly the nonreflecting type) and glare guards.
Polish your running shoes and limber up. There's a new conversation in the offing tomorrow.
