Hmm, well, hopefully the boss will take another pub round the corner which is up for grabs, in which case we can all move with him. We'll see.

Can't help with the Photoshop problem I'm afraid- Fireworks is my thing, and I'm terrible with that too.

It's been ages since I've been in a pub (save for the Winter Meet).

Oooh, it must be all of since last night when I was in a pub (the only pub in the village!)

There are two main reasons why I don't go to the pub any more:
1) My money gets eaten very quickly by things like chainmail and Medieval boots (which are dead comfy by the way).
2) Places full of strangers intimidate me.

This is a local pub for local people. We'll have no trouble here.

Any minute now there will be tromping sounds in my attic as the talented fellow from down the road surveys what's left of my roof. The winds are high again today, so he will be able to listen to the roof as well.

It was amusing to watch my cats watching the ceiling, their heads swiveling in unison as footsteps were heard tromping back and forth.

Off to Ruidoso now to meet a woman from the DCA* in Santa Fe and have lunch with her at the Great Wall.

Several years ago, a favorite local pub of MR and I was bought by some yuppies who took out the grimy dark wooden booths and installed video poker machines, bright lighting and plants. They also started serving organic pasta dishes with reduction sauces and baby greens. Way to ruin a good watering hole.

What is a reduction sauce FG? I feel like I ought to know, but I don't.

Shame about your pub Kerr, and annoying the manager isn't being told anything. Does that mean he is out of a job *and* a home?

A reduction is when you simmer any liquid till it thickens as the water leaves the sauce.

Oh, that is what I thought it was, but assumed it couldn't have been from FG's post, for some reason - don't know why.

GDZ, I posted to your old journal entry, but I think you've unsubbed...

As far as pubs go, there are some decent ones in Coventry (aka not too far from me) and as a bell ringer, I go to some very good hostelries (the one I go to on a Monday has several local and above Camra awards.)

However atm I'm busy translating, and don't really go out for a drink on my own at all.

Santra, it is true that you have to be in RGB in order to use the filters. But the clone tool works whether you're in RGB or CMYK.
