Ti, not all quests end at the same place that they start. The quest should tell you where to go. You can hit the "L" key to bring up the quest menu and then select the quest in question.
Also, you can use thottbot to find out how to finish quests. If you see coordinates on thottbot you will need to use an addon to find where the map coords are. Cosmos is a common one.

I use Titan panel, that also shows co-ordinates.
I also use:
My Roleplay, which allows you to create a character desscription and read other player's.
Gatherer, which remembers where you found resources, depending on the professions you pick.
Group Calendar, useful for guilds to arrange events in advance.
I did use to use CT Raid, but rarely raid now as I don't have the time to devote four hours to something.
Add ons can be found through curse-gaming dot com

My avatar's name is Flamedancer.
I figured out that the text (Completed) after a quest didn't mean I had completed it in full, just acquired object/s needed to complete it.
I'll have a look at the add-ons, thanks!

i rolled a mage named windlepoons a bit ago - my "main" (which is really now just a cash resource for my father's new character) on my first server was a fire mage and i think i'm going to try ice on windle. i know fire is easier to level with, but we shall see.
i'm not really leveling him that much, i don't think he's even 10 yet. the only reason why i'm leveling is to raise enchanting and tailoring on him.
i have a lvl 10, 6, 37 and 36 on this server and i have ~630 gold between them all. am i being too cheap with my money? should i be buying more potions? getting enchantments? maybe this has to do with my upbringing, but i hate to "waste" money on things i will be replacing soon with a "new model" (oy! all these poisons and dust for my rogue make me cry at all the money that goes poof), so i've never had a permanent weapon enchantment. i've also never had a buff i didn't supply myself (i.e. armor kits or the low-level enchants on windlepoons and a character i have on another server). should i be going a little crazy with my money? after all, at the rate i level 40 is a 2-3 weeks (or more) away on my new main - 37 rogue - and even that will only be ~70-90 gold that i lose. should i be spending more money?
just sometimes i feel like i'm playing this game all wrong. i don't go into dungeons until i can solo them (PUG = no thanks), i don't have a guild, i don't spend money. meh.

It's not worth going into instances that you can solo (imho) unless you just want to DE everything you get.
It's good to have money for mounts saved up and weap enchants. Keep on saving though, as you will need the money for your epic mount come level 60.
I am broke broke broke on my main on Gorg. I have only 70G and only one enchant. The high end enchants (+15agi or crusader) have very expensive mats.
I was bored playing my rogue do to the breakup of my guild, so I started an alt on another server. It's hard to play alone at the high levels. Anything that will give decent xp is difficult to solo and all my quests require parties or raids to do.
If you can truely solo all the way to 60 I am impressed.

i actually only do the low level instances when i don't feel like leveling for a few reasons:
- i usually haven't done that instance before (like fangorn keep or whatever that's called - i got up to the wolf master or whatever the other night and then the game glitched so i left)
- to get greens to disenchant on alt

I was unable to locate a certain NPC needed for a quest - and I even used two different add-ons to determine my exact position.
I created my first support ticket, but while I was AFK, it disappeared - darn, it would have been cool to actually see one of those avatars...
Anyhow - it seems (haven't got any kind of message to confirm it, scrolled all the way up in the chat window, nothing) that my coordinates were all wrong form an east-to-west point of view... because when I got back, my coords had changed a lot.
Turned out I had been trying to locate this NPC at the shores of the wrong lake!

Darn, the main Salon thread is moving faster than lightning - I'll never catch up with it!
I must say I'm happily surprised when it comes to WoW - I really like the questing part.
Quests do not exist in Entropia, which is why I think that game is much more social than WoW - sure, they both have chat windows and so on, but there is a considerable difference in the way players communicate with each other. I think the social thing is what got me hooked on Entropia to begin with.
I'm a bit confused by the 'Who' function - every time I check it, it says 0 players, then I hit 'refresh' and get 49 players. This number seems to be constant, no matter of time of day, so I don't think it's correct. I've even been whispered to by players who don't appear on the 'who' list...
I'm beginning to wonder if I'm on the real Earthen Ring server, or some kind of trial version of it? I've only been told it's busy once - but, on the other hand, I've seen a lot of level 60 players - wold I really be seeing those on a trial server?
I have two avatars, because I couldn't make up my mind - a level 18 Night Elf Druidress (wee - shapeshift!) named Aituar, and a level 20 Night Elf Huntress (wee - pets!) named Flamedancer. Howl the Owl is now level 19 and adores Flamedancer, who he sees as his 'best friend'.
I was trying to stable Howlie (wanting to tame another pet), but found out that it's much more expensive now that he's levelled a bit - the keeper wants 5 gold coins!
Aituar accidentally mistook one cave for another while searching for a quest location and ended up in Gnome.. Gnome.. Gnomesomething, with lots of nasty creatures that completely ignored her spells.
I might try the Gnome-cave again, in a team - Aituar is a pretty good healer by now, so she might be useful.

Is that the Gnome-something that's in Dun Morogh? I went in there once and was confronted by lots of sickly-looking Gnomes that had 'Level ??' listed when I clicked on them. I think it took about 30 seconds for me to die.

Yep, Gnomeregan:
http://www.wowwiki.com/Gnomeregan
While I was there trying to have a look around, a paladin rushed in and started bashing the creatures, so I started healing him. He invited me to a team, but then got smashed by standing too close to the edge in that elevator type thingy going down - and then chose to log off rather than travel all the way back again. It's a pity that the nearest graveyard is such a long way off.

Any recommendations for a good game for the Nintendo DS?
I received it on my birthday, but I've pretty much thoroughly beaten every aspect of the game that came with it (New Super Mario Bros.) It's a great system, and I want to keep using it, but....well, to be honest, Nintendo doesn't advertise like they used to, so it's hard to know what's cool. That, and video games take less time to beat now (Anyone else remember my Emblem Sign in the Atelier while I was playing Sonic Adventure 2? Heh-heh...took me a year to get all 180 emblems in that game.)

Sorry Affy, I've never played Nintendo
The creaters of a new MMORPG called Carpe Diem are looking for beta testers - now is the time to sign up if you're interested.
You'll find it at carpediem dot com

I recommend giving Nintendo a shot, Titania. They make such wonderful toys sometimes.
For instance: I picked up another Mario game for the DS, and at first glance it *appears* to merely be a simple port of that old classic Super Mario 64 onto a handheld system. However, I think there's more than enough on it to make this incarnation stand as its own game.
I mean, four characters to choose from instead of one (you can be Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Yoshi instead of just Mario), new Stars to find (150 instead of 120), and more rabbits to chase than I think I'll ever be able to realistically track down.
Oh, and the second screen functions as an overhead map showing your location within a level, as well as what direction you're facing. This helps me immensely: I know now what direction Mario is likely to jump when I tell him to jump from the very top of a pole (back in the N64 days, this was one of my biggest frustrations with the game.)
I don't know if this game would be a good purchase for people who still own a copy of the original Mario 64, but as a person who until now has only rented the game once in a blue moon I can definitely say that I'm happy with the purchase.
Except I've got the music from the Rainbow Cruise going through my head. Curse you, cheerful banjo and accordian accompanists!

I'm toying with the idea of playing MxO again. Jacked in a couple of weeks ago, but half my hardlines had disappeared and I couldn't work out my load out.

I was doing some more Kalevala research (the Finnish national epic ) when I stumbled over a reference to a computer game - this I had to see!
I finally found some info over here:
http://www.secondbrain.net/pelituotanto.html
I tried to find more info about their other game; Jaeger forces, to get an idea about the 3D-engine used, but haven't managed to find anything...

i've been playing a game called cooking mama for the gameboy DS. fun as heck - you peel, chop, boil, steam, cook, bake, knead, and do tons of other stuff as you try to perfect making recipes.

For what? The closed beta testing of Carpe Diem!
Too bad I'm going away to the Turku herring festival this weekend - I'd like to spend it gaming instead - oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait... *sits on hands*

Okay, guys. I don't often go in for non-electronic gaming, but this one is worth checking out:
www.perplexcity.com
This game rocks! I mean....rocks! Even if you don't want to buy the cards (which, incidentally, can also be said to rock), the rocking mystery and story behind the rocking cards is a story that rocks.
Am I overstating myself, about the amount of rocking involved here? I just want to be sure that there's no confusion. Confusion about what I think rocks.
Special Note: I considered a different version of this post that used the word "Awesome" instead of "Rock", but that post didn't Rock enough.
Key: Complain about this post
