Lil, I can't help but notice that your credit card troubles started after Titania left that penis enlargement e-mail for Chloé. The bots don't have access to your credit cards, do they?
The government has never done anything about regular junk mail, including scams, so why should they start with e-mail? When we moved elderly aunt who had a habit of saving *all* her mail, the sheer quantity of "sweepstakes" mailings was horrifying. Of course, all of them offered to send her the winnings as soon as she sent a check for $50 or $100 or $200. It's the processing fee, you know. And then there were the "charitable organizations" - The Anti-inflamation League, The International Red Criss-Cross, Doctor Without Boulders, The Salvation Navy, etc. And the "lawyers" who offered to sue for your "lost social security payments", for a fee.
Unfortunately my aunt had lost her ability to discriminate the real from the fake.

*reaches for the anti-coffee*
Today was going to be wonderful, the first day after release from art class, and I was going to get so much done. Now tomorrow morning begins with a heap of phone calls to rearrange EFTs before I get down to the planned work. And I just found out I'm double-booked for Friday. Is this why I moved to the boonies??

Caer - a veggie can get by okay in Prague on pizza and pasta....and there's a reasonably good Mexican place we found there last year but the meat is disgusting anyway IMO - I wouldn't risk eating it again - all full of gristle
Too tired to say anything else - off to bed

He he! I can still get into my original user space under NT! Now I shall get totally confused and probably lose all track of which threads I'm in!
Hey Ludwig, shiny brilliant to see you back! *pats Ludwig*
Sorry about Vinnie, Lil Hope he bounces back quickly. Sadie is really showing her age I fear. Even more sleeping than usual and not even asking for food. I had to pick her up and take her to her bowl last night. She does eat it all once she is in front of it though.
A while ago I had a call to the house phone and was asked to use my mobile phone to ring them back about a billing query. Fortunately my brain was actually in gear for once and I refused, told them it sounded like a scam and if they didn't leave me alone I would call the local Police station.
WM, I was emailed the cat and dog thing too, its very funny.

I received another copy of the Nigerian scam today. I hadn't seen that one for ages. It was like seeing an old friend.

I tend to delete junk mail without reading it and I very rarely apply for special offers. I may not get money off anything, but I also seem to have a very small amount of junk mail.
Phil, the forecast for the weekend claims to be for clear skies, so you should see your conjunction. I have friends staying and we are going to a convention, so I expect to see a strong conjunction of me and ethanol over the Bank Holiday.
Good luck to Amy.

Balls! Not done that in a while - sorry wrong forum. That should have been in the What are ytou listening to now thread!
I do the same as Munchkin and delete all the junk mail - real and electronic. I've just had a look at the weather forecast and it for where I'll be it's looking cloudy.
It's going to be a drinking evening on friday at a meeting of the Flat Cap and Muffler Sports and Social club

I usually delete spam unopened too, but sometimes I can't resist - I have to open it to look at the mail headers, convinced that there is some trace of how they got my address (there never is). I can tell you that the headers are almost never right. I even have one message that crashes my mail program and hits me about once a week.

*pats Zeppo and Ludwig* I'm sorry about your little fellow Vinny, Lil.
I've been getting spammed by e-mail on outlook express... I wonder if it came through a yahoo account from the foop days? As for junk mail and phone solicitation
Does anyone know why it's difficult to load pages from hootoo lately? I'm on cable hookup and have no problem with other sites.

I've no idea Ox. Lil has been having problems as well. The only problem I've seen was just now when the BBC proxy servers couldn't connect to H2G2 just now
I hope this isn't something that's going to be happening too often

SE Posted May 1, 2002
