d'E, the Goon Show was a radio programme in the fifties. Most of it was written by Spike Milligan and was totally absurd. For example in one episode a couple of crooks held in Dartmoor Prison convince the Governor that they have a treasure map leading to a French Prison. Hence the prisoners sail Dartmoor Prison to the South of France, leaving a cardboard copy behind. Their plans are foiled when a French prison sets to sea and engages them in a sea battle during which many chickens are fired.
Spike then went on to write many books, TV series and stage plays (including the Bed Sitting Room set in a post apocalyptic London where radiation turns people into furniture)and was knighted in 2000. Prince Charles was a fan and used to talk to him in a silly voice. He will be missed.

Gotta fix this before it causes a tear in the Continuity Continuum....

We have our own h2g2 moon? I didn't know that.

Well, not quite. H2G2 is technically a VR little island somewhere on Earth. But, while Earth's Moon is alright, the one here on h2g2 has had a very large explosion occur on it, resulting in one-fifth of the Moon breaking off and crumbling into several floating Moon rocks that are now floating around Earth.
*sigh*
Sometimes STUMPED knows how to overdo something. I just know that this'll become a continuity argument along the line somewhere.

Affy, have you blown up the Moon? You're going to be in dreadful trouble later on tonight.

No, I'm not responsible. A few STUMPED Agents were hijacking a space ship, and they crashed it into the Moon. There was an extremely powerful reactor core on this ship, it seems. I'm currently arguing with the STUMPED agents responsible over how to fix it. I'm for stealing a Moon identical to the one we used to have from an alternate dimension, but they want to use duct tape. It's an argument that could go on for a while yet.

They only have to look at Mars to see how much trouble duct tape can cause.

Spike died? Oh no, I'm very sorry to hear it; he was a significant cultural icon. And we should also remember him for helping to bring William MacGonigall out of obscurity -- nobody could read those poems like Spike. Remember his cameos in Three Musketeers (the Finlay-Reed-Chamberlain ones) and Life of Brian?
As regards the real moon, I had noticed how bright it was night before last as I was coming home from art class. I pulled off the road and got out of the car so I could take a look at Sierra Blanca, whose snowy peaks were virtually glowing blue with moonlight.
STUMPED has been really ~really~ irresponsible this time; they shouldn't do things that have the potential to injure innocent bystander entities. Let me know if the Continuity issue comes up, Affi.
Solnushka, congratulations on passing the exams with a distinction! We know how hard you've worked. But listen, take the snoopy dance onto the terrace, would you? Dust is shaking out of the wainscoting.
I like the cassock, Amy. Has anyone seen that new researcher Snake yet?
Matina, I'd like a cup of tea and whatever you're baking, please. My head's finally clear and it's not so cold today.

Snake, that is what is known as a simulpost -- two people post at the same time and appear unaware of each other.
Welcome properly to the atelier! The bottle is in the fridge, just don't go near the crisper drawer, OK? There's a temporal rift in there, and one time Titania fell into it with the champagne bottle, which was a whole nother adventure.
Everyone, this is Snake, a Wiccan. She appeared in the Magick Forest thread, naturally enough.
Now where's Greebo? We have all these glazed doughnuts...

I left a trail of s out in the forest for Snake. (Hi Snake!) but snake is still looking pretty sleak so I suspect that someone with a less streamlined figure got there first.

I've just had an idea concerning the closeness of the real moon, the accident to the Hootoo Moon and Milligan's passing. Why don't we repair the damage done by STUMPED with a Spike in the Moon?
