h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

A short round woman, looking a bit uncomfortable in her a little too tight business-like dress and high heeled shoes, enter. Hair tied in a strickt bun with an very long and sharp hair-pin stuck through it, makes the wingtip glasses perched on her nose, make sense.
She slips two small packages out of her handbag, and deposits them among the gifts by the two thrones.The packages contains a little booklet about the Laws of Magical Conduct and Proper Use Thereof, and a card with a birthday's greeting.
She then accepts a small glass of punch.

*a beautiful white snowy owl with amber eyes swoops down and perches on the back of Harry's chair ready to help him stop the Evil Vol-au-vent from reaching the Philosopher's Scone*

*enters at rush*

I hope I'm not too late for the party!

Took me a little while to get the eyes right.

Tom is sitting in his chair.
With his head up in the air.
Throwing forth an arm so skinny.
He purses his mouth and makes a whinney.

Through the door, and to the thrones.
Arrives some bushes bearing scones.
"For you peeps who are having a birthday
Eat, drink, enjoy, for they ain't made of clay."

Just realised that all I can remember of Tom Bombadil comes from Bored of the Rings. Bother.

Ah present these to yas Happy Birthday!

*slinks in and curls up in the corner, keeping a malevolent eye on all those around her. gives a little "miaow" that seems to mean "Happy Birthday, one and all!"*

*Puts on his crown, and his new sweater. Samples the fudge and looks warily at the blast-ended skrewt.*

Thank you very much for the gifts! They're perfect.

*Begins eating his Quiddich salad. Then notices the badger.*

*the badger gives a sly wink-and-grin to Mrs. Weasely and Sirius Black, and a slightly more formal version of said wink-and-grin to Harold, who brings by some Blue Powder Punch and a quiddich salad*

*slinks over to the table and snags a chicken wing. very neatly eats it, then takes a quick of phlog. eyes get very wide and begins to purr*

*Quickly looks around to ensure there are no loose fireworks lying around.*

*swoops down for a Shrimp a la Gryffinn*

*casually nibbling a pineapple straw, the badger watches SB's security efforts, a calm smile playing across her lips that could very well be saying "don't worry, l've brought my own"...*

*rolls over on her back and bats at invisible strings. then stands up suddenly and around the room like a mad kitty. with each circuit, she rises farther off the floor until she appears to be running around the ceiling. stops just as suddenly. sits in the middle of the ceiling and washes her tail. looks down as if to say, "What are you all doing down there? Don't you know that this is where the party is?" goes back to washing her tail*

*Notices the badger's smile and has an inkling what it might mean. Grins, in spite of himself.*

So, Ms. Badger, are you sticking around for a while?

mmm, mighty good this is Hermione and Sirius (are you really serious Sirius )

*starts wishing he wasn't wearing such a light colour with sauce, mead and wine going everywhere*

*bats at Gandalf's hat distractedly*

{possibly, possibly...}

*she telepathed coyly -- and if you think it's easy, telepathically conveying coyness...
Why telepathically? Because badgers can't talk, silly...*

{RL circumstances have of late turned in my favour...l've a T1 connection and it seems an absolute sin to waste it...and to miss such excellent company...}

*she snarfs up the lovely strawberries one by one*

*Pippin rushes in late and, like the Tom Fool of a Took he is, doesn't read any backlog. Looks around and can't seem to find any of his Hobbit friends anywhere. This disappoints him. Notices large quantities of food being served, along with ale, and feels much the better for it.*
