Sorry to hear of problems with your stepson, GDZ. I hope it all gets sorted out soon.
And give yourself a HUUUUGE pat on the back for doing such a great job with your own children
Happy Birthdays and Merry Christmasses/Happy Holidays to all, as appropriate.

Happy Birthday G7
Sounds like a bit of a major problem there GDZ. I hope you can work out what you need to do for you and your family - you are doing a grand job from the sound of it
I did manage to do some baking last night. The first dozen mince pies are now made. There was a few hours delay between the putting the pies together and the cooking of them as me and MC went out to a very nice tapas place in a pub near us
Time for the last update to the story then...

The story, the whole story (well less a few doubles I deleted) and nothing but the story

If anyone wants to edit this up into something else it's there. If anyone wants the full on record to work their own version then let me know and I can pass it on.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Dec 22, 2005
Morning all
Didn't oversleep but have only just got up - been snuggling in bed with the beasties, oh and J.
We just cut the licked bit of the cake off and were going to patch the icing but then thought 'well it is cut now, might as well try a bit' so now it looks like a cake that has been attacked but two greedy people *has picture of Teuchter snogging a dog*
GDZ you're have a difficult time with the ex at the moment, I'm sure you will be able to sort things out for the best though.
We have had *loads* of cards to Mr & Mrs J D-----. Like Ag, it winds me up - I only took his surname for goodness sake! I'm not going to go around calling myself 'James' now, I have a perfectly servicable first name of my own thank you very much! People that know us well addressed the envelopes to Mr&Mrs D---- or Kelli and James D-----, although my uncle (who was teasing us about the whole name change thing) addressed the envelope to Mr & Mrs K D-----
Right, time to go back and find out what happened in the header game, thanks for that Phil! Sorry Lil, it happened at quite a busy time and I couldn't keep the header story in my head enough to participate. Plus this time there were Rules, and people got Told Off if they didn't stick to them so I thought it would be best not to

Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Dec 22, 2005
Hey, I wake up with the bloody mutt snuggled up against me most mornings. The other half gets up earlier than me, and the dog figures he may as well have the nice wam patch. I woke up this morning being regarded with a very baleful eye: I had the nerve to sprawl in my own bed, thus relegating the four legged one to a cold patch at th end.

David B - Singing Librarian Owl Posted Dec 22, 2005
Last day of opening for the Library of Doom today, but we'll be back in the New Year. Rather more people around than expected today, including a drunk man, who began to get racially abusive at one of my colleagues.
The porters were summoned to get rid of him pretty sharpish.
I have no beasties to snuggle with, but I have unearthed my hot water bottle.

Phil Posted Dec 22, 2005
Pah! I have to be in tomorrow to help make sure the computer labs here closed down properly.

Hypatia Posted Dec 22, 2005
I usually wake up with 3 of the 5 beasties in bed with me. But only Annie wants to be under the covers all the time. Which is actually more comfortable than when she is on top of the covers weighing them down so I can't move. Chico sleeps on the spare pillow and Minerva sleeps on my pillow. It's no wonder I never get a decent night's sleep.
I am closing the library on the 24th, 26th, 31st and 2nd. I like it when the actual holidays fall on Saturday or Sunday. It gives us a 3 day holiday instead of a 2 day one that way.
Phil, how many mince pies do you make? I hope you're talking about the small, individual ones. I have a jar of Crosse & Blackwell mincemeat. It isn't as good as home made, but I'm too lazy to make my own.
I'll bake on Saturday. I'm doing pecan, blackberry and pumpkin pies and mincemeat tarts. And I have decided on a cold buffet on the 26th when Lady C is here. That way we can visit instead of cook all day.
...
Phil Posted Dec 22, 2005
Probably only a couple of dozen (small individual ones that is ) to finish off some homemade mincemeat from a while back. As there is just the two of us we don't need to make that many and some will be taken over when we go visiting parents.

Sounds ideal Hyp. Boxing day lunch is my favourite of the whole year - cold cuts from the roast, ham, pates, pickles, dips, coleslaw, cheeses boiled potato, oven chips and salad I know we could have this any time of year, but for some reason, we don't. Mind you at no other time of the year have we over-bought in the pickles, dips, pates, cheese etc department so that is probably why.
Just brought the beasties back from the park - seems like every in the village was there so they have had a fine old time flirting with the boys and running around like loonies. They are now flaked out on their beds but I'm not tired as I didn't have to do any running about for a change

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted Dec 22, 2005
I've decided to give up on Auntie's Have Your Say site... apparently it's all fully moderated but the fact that txt spk drivel and comments like "Gays are an abomination" get through and my own well-written omments don't doesn't fill me with confidence about the skills of these so-called moderators.

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted Dec 22, 2005
Having looked a bit closer at Have Your Say I alter my arguement slightly... apparently it's fully moderated unless you register (in which case it's reactively moderated) which means that all you have to do is register to post the txt spk, drivel and petty arguing.

*appears, curled up in corner with hot drink*
Just got in from Shopping. I've decided that any given trip I have a number of shopping points, and when they're used up I may as well go home because my patience has run out and I won't find anything I like anymore. Trying on clothes uses up my points something dreadful. We managed to get quite a few presents before I gave up in disgust, though...
I wanted to participate in the subject header game more, but I've been so busy recently that I couldn't keep up with it Or anything else much for that matter...

I think MR's schedule was getting crazy again.
Have any of you ever used the silicone bakeware? I'm thinking about buying some, but can't find anyone who has any to ask if it really works.
I haven't seen LTP around for a while, either. Or B4. Or Gw7en, for that matter. I hope they are all well and have a happy Christmas.
...
Witty Moniker Posted Dec 22, 2005
Consumer Reports magazine doesn't recommend the silicone bakeware unless you get the type that has a metal support frame that you load the bakeware into. Otherwise, whatever you are baking kinda spreads out and won't be symmetrical. Also, the baked goods don't brown like they do in metal or glass.
