cheers and good luck - a very close friend of mine is out to some of his friends and not out to others but i think the hardest thing is not being out to his folks, and trying to work out how that will go - on the other hand, another friend of mine who is a drag queen (he has the best legs on campus, it's not fair! ) has a wonderfully supportive mum who has a really close relationship with now

To add to the difficulties my boyfriend has a public persona in his career which, he doesn't want to distract from so it is hard to unilaterally do anything. But thanks for the support.

Now if only I could come out as my main persona on h2g2.

ouch, publicity's gotta hurt - it's never easy maintaining a relationship in a goldfish bowl, i've been there a fair bit and i wanted to keep my other half a secret to protect him from the nastiness, but then it got out anyway and he was fine, didn't need my protection

the thing is that you might not be able to decide when it becomes public knowledge, either of you, like what happened with me - maybe you could suggest it's better that you guys control when ppl find out instead of having it all out of your hands? dunno, aunt span always has to find a way to help

I know what you mean. This one is doubly awkward cause I'm a lesser light in the same field, but either if us could make it really big really soon. He may already have the press and media coverage, I'm getting a bit of recognition locally, it's the sort of story the tabloids would go crazy about. Especially in the filed that is involved. They already have whenever this has been revealed about others in the past.

No this persona is me feeling the water eventually my main persona will come clean, but I'm guaging the best time, place and method at present.
