Spings?
Ye gods, methinks the wench is more lubricated than the drinking gentts!

It's all the wrong way round. It doesn't grow, it fades; it's like all the flavour hits you at once, a complete front-of-the-mouth experience. I'd rather have something like a Ferret, that you taste little of until the tastes grow around your mouth.
In fact, the more I think about B's 'leathery aftertaste' comment, the less appealing it gets. The aftertaste is actually a bit like bad breath.
I'm going for a wee.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Dec 14, 2007
Evening chaps and chapesses, I appear to be late..... Not as in the late 2legs, but in a late 2legs kind of way can I be excused from teh backlog?

No, slacker, read it all. Turn it up and annoy your lodger with unintelligable online beer festival speak (I assume JAWS speaks at a similar rate to your mobile.)

Skankyrich [?] Posted Dec 14, 2007
Yes, you can be excused. We were early, in fact
We've still to do simultaneous drinking on Old Peculier, Hobgoblin and the Oyster Stout, if you have any of those keep them for now!

Mu Beta Posted Dec 14, 2007
I have them all. Will someone please tell me when I should be drinking them?
Failing that, I'll dictate the order of events.

Shall we say Hobgoblin at 10.30, OP at 11 and the Oyster stout at 11.30?

Give me five minutes; I've just read the backlog its entirity and I'm going to find my bishops finger....

I've only the Old Peculier, but I have a Fiddler's Elbow in place of the Hobgoblin. No oyster stouts (shouldn't that be porter?) alas.

I'm not a great stout drinker, but I'll do my best to keep up.

Bishops finger. (for information I pulled the bottle out of the fridge, asked lodger which one it was, and somehow I'd gotten the right one).
Pours nicely.
Smells bluddy fantastic.
Tastes wrong.
It doesnt' taste like it does from teh pump (at least not yet, it might just be in need of a bit more settling).
Also, at the moment at least, the gasseous nature is entirely at contradiction with what one gets in the pub (I relaly rahter like this as a drink in a decent pub.)
I'm going to have a few slugs at it now, then see if the opinion cahnges.

Yes, you are - I think you're the only one with the stout, too. Nowhere in Torquay seems to sell either.

2legs, don't forget to give it a rating out of five!

Damn, I just completely failed to pay attention to QI.
I wonder if the Will Smith on Jonathon Ross will be the interesting, funny Radio 4 one or inoffensive but largely pointless the American one.

Its settled a bit, and I must confess its probably slightly* too cold (I took the beers out of the fridge a few hours back, but its not quite room temp enough).
Its less lively now, and a bit better, and now I'm getting the leathery aftertaste a bit too, though to me its also a tadge (I'll spell this word wrong) Liquichery I'm about half way though it,and it still smells an awful lot nicer than its tasting I'm reserving judgement still....

I've really got it too cold.... I can't give it any more than a 2 our of 5 (is 5 the highest bestist score?) yeh. I'll give it a 2.
