Traveller in Time holding resposible for creating this thread
"I think we can also give part of the responsibility to the manufacturer.
And then as well as the gouvernment allowing manufacturers to produce dangerous products.
For 'The deadly accident' example: the driver has his responsibility in giving (kind of) replacement for the deseased <?> diceased (anyone spell checker?)
The driver should be adequate for safe driving.
The Manufacturer could have adapted the vehicle to make sure no external objects can be harmed."

That's true- there needs to be more testing of products before they go out on the market- particularly those that come into contact with food.

Traveller in Time checking local rules
"It is starting to get annoying to read on 'strawberry jelly' : can have been in contact with peanuts <?> (really it says so)
On the other hand it is just regulation to obligate manufacturers to take care with what they mix up for consumption."

You obviously haven't read the warning on a bag of peanuts, yes you've guessed it, 'May contain nuts', it's true honest, like the warning on the side of a McDonalds coffe cup 'Warning contents may be hot'
DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!
how about compulsury bloody obvious warnings in the manifesto like 'Warning, slippery surface' on the local ice rink

Traveller in Time on his head
"McDonalds has been sued once for serving hot coffee, resulting in burns when it dropped over.
And I guess the 'Ice Rink' is a regular on the emergeny department of the hospital.
I guess you have a point there, humans seem to seek the danger, just upto the limit where they think they can control it. I think it is not wise to create regulations strict to prevent anything from happening."

Those hospitals that have A & E's
If there is a Save the Hospital post in the party I want it as I work in a hospital with the threat of closure over it

"Promote the local 'Ice Rink', 'Bungee Jump' and 'Skate Board' track ?
(This sounds silly but it can make the difference?)"

Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Aug 25, 2004
Well I joined the Save Haslar campaign when we moved down, we don't have a bungee jump thing, but we've got the ice rink and skate track

Government agencies should also be subject to annual performance reviews by the people they are protecting.

reefgirl... hospitals are on the agenda... and Scandrea, definatly... ok suggestion on the ideas of red tape and funding etc... So many hospitals are now losing cash on admin saying where the cash is going to go (what a wonderful world we live in...) So collapse each individual hospitals admin into one national admin centre. Do the same for other organisations as well. Every hospital is then allocated cash / bed and paitent with extra funding when required decided by a team of nurses and doctors who have worked on the shop floor so to speak...

What we really need is the return of Matron, My mum, who studied nursing for a while, says hospitals went downhill when they got rid of Matron

Well she's not Hattie Jacques, she was incharge of running the hospital, making sure it was clean, all the nurses were doing their job properly and scaring the out of everyone
