You can call me TC Posted Jun 22, 2001
My little boy has just left for the open air (Bon Jovi at the Cannstadter Wasn). The only reason I'm not going is because I really must save money. But I'm regretting it now. *rushes off to see if it's on MTV*

No wonder, you regret it, TC:( But maybe this will make you feel a bit better, as well as all of you:)

Well you know E: de gustibus ... and so on.
I, for example, do not like self brewed beer, but.. oh, well maybe there is someone in the world who does??

Those men are just jealous, Kasia. Most women I know would quite happily drop everything and leave with Mr Bongiovi. Half our village went to the concert - and we're 2 1/2 hours' drive from Stuttgart!
*wonders what the proportion of female to male visitors went*
Right - I'm off to M. Hulot now - bye!

Well, I am not jelous of M. Hulot...
I hope all those people had just as a good time as I at the Siedler-von-Catan-Turnier I went to today in Karlsruhe. I didn´t win, but had a lot of fun!

Siedler of Catan ?
That's where I just returned from! Not an official match, just playing, but it's great fun

The thing was run by a games club ( an e.V. ). It is part of the official Siedler Turnier, ending in Essen in September. There were 48 players competing.
It was a real good atmosphere. It seemed that noone realy definitly wanted to win or was playing to win. I had 3 games. The first I lost, the second game I got 2. and the last game I got 3ed.
What I realy thought amusing was the terms everyone used. Some called the Erz: Stein. One said to Lehm : Matsch and Getreide turned to show...

And there's 'Schafe' (sheep) vs. 'Wolle' (wool)

Well, I saw M Hulot last night and I realised I had never seen it before, even though it has been around since 1953 and I probably heard of it not long after that.......
Some people in the audience were having hysterics - they thought it really funny. I thought it very clever and amusing and quaint, but there wasn't a scene with a petrol canister. Either they cut it out or it was from another film?
The special performance was in the open air on a huge screen and no sound. It was accompanied by a percussionist and a pianist and was a nice evening, as long as you took a blanket to sit on!
Anyway. we have now booked a holiday. Has anyone else got any plans for the summer?
I am going to wash up this Feuerzangenbowle as the weather here now can compete with Florida (how is it in Warsaw?) and get out the iced tea, ice cream, ice coffee, etc., etc. Cheers!
When the sun goes over the yardarm I shall pour myself a Pimms - anyone like to join me. Does anyone know how to make one properly?
Wisch Ju Wot!
You can call me TC Posted Jun 24, 2001
Pimms is a summery drink that is served with lots of bits of fruit in it, at least a cucumber slice, a chunk of apple, and a sprig of mint, and any other fruit available. The work involved is guaranteed to make barmen groan. You can buy the liquid bit ready made up in bottles, but I have no idea what is in it.

Sounds like Bowle/Punsch, but without the alcohol!
Wisch Ju Wot!
You can call me TC Posted Jun 24, 2001
Oh no! It's defnitely alcoholic. Why bother otherwise?
