Good afternoon, Kasia.
Just returned from the dentist and have my first

I planned to see the movie but, as usual, it was quite cold...
And my boy-friend had to learn for a test and I didn't want to go without him.
But it's not that bad, it was "only" Mel Brooks' SpaceBalls and that's not one of my favourites...
Last year we had The Rocky Horror Picture Show on the campus of our FH, and for this we drove the 330km from Munich to Furtwangen

oh, well... don't like this Mel Brooks movie very much - I'm more for his older things, like this Ernst Lubitsch remake - don't know the English name..

Starting this weekend in Germersheim we have the Kultursommer which is all inthe open. Jazz, Classical Music, ballet and this time they will be showing Monsieur Hulot's holiday with live accompanying music. They always have good ideas about mixing genres.

theres this great bit in m. Hulot's holiday, where he is on the autobahn, or whatever they call it in b****y france, and he runs out of gas/petrol/essence/sprit. So he decides to start walking with a gas can to the next tankstelle...He walks for what seems like miles and then he sees...on the other side of the road, a guy with an equally empty gas can walking in the opposite direction!
brilliant stuff, you must see it.

I remember that scene perfectly well, Alec - it's just gorgeous - like the entire movie!
It's amazing, that some stuff - movies, music, books or paintings are timeless... Well, then you can call the authors genius'
