1) If people hate the US so much
a)why are they always trying to imitate us?
b)why are there so many students that flock(??) to American universities?
3) Why do people criticize us for our foreign policy when we do something and they criticize if we don't? Make up your mind people.

There are several problems with US foreigm policy.
People criticise because the US has set itself up as the global power. Therefore with power and privelge come
responsibility.
When the US does do something it frequently gets things wroong because of its inability to
see things in perspective. US policy makers have an unpleasant habit of seeing issues in black and white
and not shades og grey. For example the Bosnia debacle; the reason the EU was unable to resolve the
problem was (at least in part) due to the fact that it recognised the fact that all sides in the war were
guilty of atrocities and war crimes. The US however, identified the Serbs as the bad guys and decided to bomb
them, simple as that. Yes this may have put a temporary halt to the killing but as soon as the US/NATO gets bored
with Bosnia it will reignite. This point is underlined by the recent Kosovo crisis; consider the precedent that
is being set; NATO/US have given military support to a seccessionist-terrorist organisation in Europe. The
precedent that has been set is horrifying. I acknowledge that something had to be done but....nobody bombed Israel in
1947 when it 'ethnically cleansed' 650,000 Palestinians from their homeland with US approval and backing.
I am happy to debate this point at lenght.

further to the above; what is the point in having sucha powerful military if you are afraid to put it to any effective use?
(ps I meant 1948 not 1947)

First of all the EU is an economic organization, they have no power and couldn't do anything in Kosovo
even if they wanted to. Also the action in Kosovo is a NATO action not a US one. The US has the most
forces committed simply because they have the resources to do it. The action has the support of the various
NATO members or the US wouldn't be there. The points of the question deal more with for instance with
the orginal Bosnian conflict, NATO (including US) were criticized for not doing enough. Now that something
is being done, they are also being criticized.

it's good to see that misinformation and ignorance
have not yet passed from the world.
how boring would it be if everyone actually based
theyr opinions on fact instead of propaganda.
in 1947 the UN devided the land of israel
between its jewish and arab populations.
the jewish population accepted and declared independence.
the arab population did not accept and the day
after the declartion 5 (five !) arab armys invaded
israel with mega massive force. one of the outcomes
of the war of independece (in which the israeli
army was rediculously small and under equiped)
was a massive refujie problem which to this day
presents a real threat to the peace process.
israel has not complied with several UN resolution
and has had a questionable (at best) human rights record
in regards to the palesteniane people.
but equating the events of 1947 to the ethnic clensing
in kosovo is beyond absurd and ignorant.
