Oh God, we're not trying again, are we? The last time Derby tried to organise a Pride event about four blokes, a poodle and a pair of elderly lesbians (that had got lost on their way to the shops) turned up.

I laughed when I saw Cornwall Pride in Truro when the nearest proper gay club is in Exeter. I am quite tempted to go back there just to check it out.

I'm giving it very serious thought - it'll just be a case of whether I can afford it. I haven't been back to Cornwall since I moved back up north last summer and I do miss the place.

Plus, just because I say it to everyone when I get on the topic, Truro is amazingly beautiful. Can't beat a summer's evening on the quayside with something cold and alcoholic.

what exactly are pride events like? between only recently even sorta comeing to terms with the fact that I'm not really straight and hating crowds I haven't been to one.

So did you try out any Pride events in the end? At least with many of the Pride events that are held in parks, rather than city centes, you're still able to escape the crowds if you like.
