During WWII my grandfather publicly opposed the Nazi regime. He was an influential man within the Norwegian school-system, and consequently represented a threat. It was not a great surprise when the Gestapo appeared on his doorstep one day. My grandfather had eight children and one of these acted quite fearlessly on this particular day. As they took my grandfather away to confinement, his youngest son sat at the piano and played the royal anthem rather loudly. He was fortunate that they didn't take him away as well.
