Hola, Mar. Lo siento mucho tu 'dolor de pierna'. Espero que va pronto amejorse(???) QuE has hecho?

Cor, I seem to have got in a mess with that lot. I hoped to say I was sorry about your bad leg, and hope that it'll get batter soon, and I wanted to know what you'd done to it, as in trauma. I don't like going to the doctor, as I don't like taking too many tablets.

Yo, tambiEn, estoy cansada, pues voy a dejarte hasta manana, quizAs.
I'm tired as well, so I'll leave you till tomorrow, perhaps.

AdiOs.

Cor, I seem to have got in a mess with that lot. I hoped to say I was sorry about your bad leg, and hope that it'll get better soon,(I stole this word from French, but I bet it's wrong!!) and I wanted to know what you'd done to it, as in trauma.
Yes, I like gardening as long as I don't have to deal with weeds. Our garden is far too big for Ancient Britons!!

Yo, tambiEn, estoy cansada, pues voy a dejarte hasta manana, quizAs.
I'm tired as well, so I'll leave you till tomorrow, perhaps. Tengo que agitar las manos a Feisor? Shall I wave at Feisor?

Holá! Mar.

Hello, Mar! I thought I'd already written a reply, but it's disappeared. I wanted to ask you how's your leg, because it's not very nice to be in pain. What did you do? Fall? I hope you'll feel better soon. I know what you mean when you talk about the temptation of 'hootoo'. I ought to be doing a bit of housework, but... The funny thing is that my husband dislikes technology, and HE used to be a science teacher years ago!!

Hasta la, er, el lecto?? See, er, read you soon! Dig smiley - senior

Hola Dig,

---My leg is better, the staples that they removed still hurt, but Im ok. Im happy, perhaps, I can do the rehabilitation in Granada, my hometown. This way my husband will be able to rest a bit, poor. He is very good with me and I with him! sure.

***
duelos, you mean dolores
Duelo is, I think, mourning. That time that takes you accept the death of a love one.
pSichologysts say that someone must "elaborar el duelo": accept death and go on living.

Hasta la vista, see you soon
hasta luego, hasta pronto, see you then, so long,
nos vemos, we see soon
cuídate, take care

There are different words:
mourning, grief, bereavement

I don't know which fits best.

Thank goodness I recently (and reluctantly) acquired Vista. Now I have the Snipping Tool, which I certainly need to make notes of the information which is pouring in! smiley - ta

Dónde lo has aprendido?

I'm so glad that your leg is getting better. Husbands are quite useful, aren't they! Mine (even) makes dinner every evening. That's because, 10 or 12 years ago, we had goats, and I had to milk them at dinnertime. Now, I haven't told him that we don't have them any more. Nice smiley - huh
KZ, I'm delighted to meet you. It seems that you know Spanish very well. Where did you learn it?

Now dinner is nearly ready, so I'd better be ready as well.
Adiós, todo el mundo!! 'Bye everybody!

Hi Venerable Lady,

delecharlas(milk them): ordeñarlas.
de te encontrar: de encontrarte.

Yes, KZ has a good Spanish, he should come here.

---I had goats too when I was a child, but I didn´t learn how to milk them. It is very difficult.

Buen provecho. I'll have dinner later,
Good profit, Cenaré más tarde.

Cuídate

No te preocupes!

Don't worry. People who don't make mistakes don't make anything! I think you write, and speak, I suppose, very well, and Mar thinks so too, doesn't she!
It's raining today and the garden is grateful. So'm I because I don't have to, or rather, I shan't be able, to work in it! But there are lots of other jobs waiting for me...so Goodbye both of you.

May I begin by telling you how to improve your English a bit?

'That's mean that today, I'm not going to be much here. But I wanted to make you know that as soon as I am fresh like a daisy'

O hay que usar el subjuntivo?

Herbs á é ó í ñ

Post 137

seraphicDigitalis

Yes, it's certain.
No, you don't need a subjunctive, as you're questioning a fact (perhaps it's easier in English!) You obviously recognise that Spaniards use it a lot more than we or the French, but only, it seems, when the facts aren't clear. It's this depressing 'si Diós quiere' -if God wills- attitude, for example. I find a tendency to use it when you or I would use a future, 'cuando venga' - when I come...as I might not get there.

Sorry about all that. I didn't set out to write a book, nor yet read a lecture. smiley - sorry Lo siento! Right word?) smiley - huhsmiley - headhurts

Hi Serafina,

Pierna maldicha ( thanks for that funny expressionsmiley - laugh)
it is maldita.
I'll explain:

From the verb maldecir (curse) we have the past participle maldito-a

from the verb decir , say, ( latin: dico dicere dictum) we have the past participle dicho. YOu have mixed both. But don´t worry, even Spaniard have those kind of problems with particples.

YOu can say frito or freido, but freido only as a verb form yo he freido las patatas, Nowadays it is used only frito, as verb form and adjetive.
He frito las patatas, I've fried the potatoes
He comprado una bolsa de patatas fritas.I've bought a bag of chips

He imprimido este documento: I've printed this document
Rellena estos impresos: Fill in these forms

YOu can´t say He impreso but he imprimido.

***
Ridiculoso: ridículo
No quería leer un sermón: no quería soltarte un rollo
soltar el rollo, is a coloquial expression, very much used.

*** thanks for your corrections Dig.
