Maggpie, the greyhound that ran out of Long Eaton stadium in derbyshire after finishing last and was later found three miles away with his head stuck in railings, is to retire from the sport.

It's a great story - hopefully VIFT will add it. 
There was a story on the Island about a dog who got bored waiting for his owner to get out of a shop, and so got on a bus to go home, but missed his stop. That was amusing to read.
