h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

*Alyssa's body starts to go cold*

*Her spirit starts to panic as she looks round at the deserted greyscale realm for whatever evil power she can sense closing in. As she glances about desperately her eyes spot a flash of colour and she looks after it desperately hoping its Lady Shaylar. She calls out, but her voice echos soundlessly in her head and she has no way of knowing if it was heard by the other spirit. She turns back and watches dark formless shadows closing in*

*Alicias bell falls to the floor and slowly rolls ringing as it does so*

*Alicia remains in her trance like state and the room slowly starts to grow darker as if a cloud were obscuring the sun*

*Shaylar's body twitches*

*Alyssa holds her breath and closes her eyes as the blackness starts to swallow her, then opens her eyes hesitantly and sees it appears to have stopped. She draws herself up and takes a hesitant step foward, as she looks down notices something about her hand and lifts it up slowly. It appears to be becoming slightly transparent*

*decides enough is enough and tries to wake aylissa gently*

*Alyssa's spirit look up sharply, she looks back at the dark shapes closing in and turning just in time to see a glimpse of colour dissapearing round the corner screams for Shaylar........

.........And her body sits up abruptly with a cry. Alyssa shivers, her skin icey, and rocks herself gently looking up at Calel*

[Alyssa] There is something unearthly there Gaurding Alyssa's spirit that I am no match for..... *she trails off and eyes Alicia* A necromancer, I wonder how she will fare.....

*looks at her palour and how cold she seems to be, takes off his cloak and wraps it around her, gathering her up into his arms*


She is experianced in this kind of thing, she'll be ok.

*Alyssa shivers and hugs the cloak gently to herself*
[Alyssa] This is all far more complicated than any of us anticipated I fear.....

*hugs you tighter*


well it is up to her now to deal with it

*Avatar turns to Alyssa and Cal.*

Rest and regain your strength. The battles, both here and outside the city, are still raging.

*Avatar looks at Alicia and the still unconcious form of Shaylar, then turns back.*

There is little I can do here, I fear. *he beckons to a basin of water* Tell me, how fares the battle against the orcs?

*Alyssa wobbles to her feet shivvering, and suddenly notices the shadow forms the other side of the bed <>>*

[Alyssa] (to Calel) They were.... there were things like that down in the spirit realm.... *she edges round them towards Avatar and peers itno the basin of water concentrating on it as the images clear showing the destruction caused by the orcs, the wounded and the people collapsed from exhaustion. She notices an oddly mutated half fox half bird form making its way across to shelter and frowns recognising it as her brother, then turns away as the image fades wobbling back over to Calel*
*quietly* We have to go help.......

*Avatar gazes into the bowl*

*to Alyssa* No, you shouldn't go yet. Wait a while and regain your strength. I'll go and help fight. Okay?

*gently holds her up*

You have no strentgh

*she looks round at Avatar, then Calel and hisses quietly trying to not disturb Alicia*

[Alyssa] *hisses quietly to them* I am strong enough to be of some use, here I am no use at all! *she focuses on Calel* You're a healer, help me heal!

*Inspite of the situation, Avatar can't help but smile gently.*

Alright, but at least let Calel help you regain your strength first. There'll still be orcs out there for you to fight.

*Avatar turns and heads out the door*

*puts his arm around her waist and helps her to a nearby chair*


*frowns at her* I don't think this is such a good idea, rest would be much better for you right now

*she glares at him and shrugs of his cloak trying to conceal a little shiver*
