well, i am in Portugal for the football from 16th June to 2nd July, so obviously between those dates i can't make it.
but seeing as i'll be in Portugal if you choose to have the meet on any of those dates, it won't bother me much
but if i get to come back from Portugal and land practically immediately in a H2G2 meet then wahey all is good in the life of creachy

well, I can now confirm that my graduation is on July 10th, so unless everyone's very boring that day and I zip off to London for the evening, I guess I'll have to be meetless once again if that turns out to be the date...
Of course, if there are enough of us fancy coming, we could always have *two* Summer meetups...

I guess the answer to that is no 2legs We're still split into June/July camps Anyone that can do both fancy making an executive decision. Briberies of ale and pie may be provided for a June date

I suggest that we set a date to pick a date by, say, Easter Saturday so that people have time to book travel and accomodation at reasonable prices, and we keep a count of the votes. Then on 'pick a date day' we count the votes and go with the date that has the largest amount.
I can't think of any other way with no official organisers to chose.
People would be allowed to vote for more than one date, but not the same date twoce (Lucky!)

I'm an unoffical organiser! control myself self restraint calm an sea of tranquility yep, your idea sounds good, should we just go for a vote now though? I, or someone, could message on the personal spaces, everyone thus far (once I've updated the list) people who've signed up, and see what their preference is, or something I'm feeling stressed 'organising' this already I'm easy on any date, so long as it isn't the fifth of april, after then, and before it, I'm free as far as I can tell for the next few years

June: Not available
July: 10th only definite
(17th/31st possible, although inconvenient)
August: All OK, but July preferred.
OK - that pretty much sums it up...

We could jsut put it in our names to come and vote - start from scratch so we don't have to go through the backlog if you like!

I'm easy (like a Sunday morning, not the other kind of easy). Only 5th June is bad, but looks as though that's out anyway . I'm definitely definitely coming though! I'll put some cash in a jar every month so don't end up skint at the time!

Time for a bit of h2g2 history. Summer meet dates of the past:
19th July 1999
13th May 2000 (h2g2 1st birthday party)
7th July 2001
20th July 2002
28th July 2003
So a date in July would be in keeping with tradition. On that basis my vote goes for the 10th July but I'm sure any other date would suit me too.
Key: Complain about this post
