The earth used to be flat, right?

Technicly not. It's false to say that most people thought the world was flat in the middle ages, the majority didn't care and most of the rest said it was round. But the church said it was flat so that's where the belief that it was flat came from. Ancient Greek scientists actually came very close to predicting the size of the round Earth.
