Good entry Bob...shouldn't this entry include Oxfordshire as well as its not included in the southern England list here...

What about Herefordshire and Gloucestershire they're South West England I guess. In fact I think you not to change the name of the entry in the link!

Otherwise I love all these entries they just need tidying up and pulling together. Then they could all go into the guide at the same time. You may want to put links in each entry to link them to the others in the series. smiley - biggrin

Are you saying this entry used to be twice as big bob? A quick glance tells me it's still a big bugger, so I think that was a wise idea. Looks like another typically thorough and well-researched entry from the stafford stable, I'll have a read through when I've cleaned the hamsters and tell you what I think.

Hi Cardi-Bling
That would be ok but the 'A' numbers change when edited I will have to leave that to the Ed's.

Hey Bob, just started having a read of your entry. It's very good, detailed, reads well, very thorough. There are a few issues of spelling and punctuation that need tidying up of course, but nothing major. My only real anxiety it's that you've been so thorough that it's still a lengthy read. I know you've already halved this entry once so I wouldn't suggest halving it again lightly, but it would be a shame to swamp some excellent writing with too much all at once. It's a shame you've already submitted the first section of this entry, it would have made a great uni project.

At a glance bob, one suggestion that I think might make an impact. You've included the introduction to chartered markets, a very thorough explanation, in every entry so far. Given that your first entry is now in the eg, you might take the intro out of all the other entries and simply link to the first one.

Hi Bob, just a few items on first read,

*It is interesting that this part of the country more use was made of the Roman road network than the north,*

'It is interesting that in this part of the country more use was made of the Roman road network than the north,'

*This area escaped the harring of the north,* - should that be 'warring' or wars in the north perhaps?

*The first English peoples*

'The first English people'

*Dooms Day Book*

'Doomsday Book'

*stationed on Watling street London Birmingham road*

'stationed on the Watling Street, London to Birmingham road'

*Warwick and Tamwrth castles*

'Warwick and Tamworth castles'

*he Town of Warwick*

'The Town of Warwick'

*Originally founder by the Romans*

'Originally founded by the Romans'

*were Glouster, Stourport*

'were Gloucester, Stourport'

The Denbighshire county paragraph needs looking at, makes no sense really and info is somewhat sparse.

In the charter list re. tax and toll charges I believe there is also a charge called a Tithe, (sometimes spelt with a Y as well). In Warwickshire, near the market town of Atherstone there are numerous references to Tithes, there's a Tithe Farm also nearby that had a chequered history. It's now no longer a working farm and the farm house, all 19 rooms, have been converted into flats sadly.

This has been a good read, well done Bob.

I think this is just about there. There are a few spelling and punctuation errors, but it would be just as easy for the sub to pick them up as it would be to make a list of them. The actual content looks fine to me. What do others think?
