We've no choice; we gotta go!

We've no choice; we gotta go!

Whatever else happens, assuming that man survives man's horrors, we live on a ball of mud with limited resources. And, we seem to be a very prolific species.

If we don't get out there, before the available resources fades below what would be necessary, we are simply doomed to waste away into oblivion. [It may not be the best or only plan, but the book 'The Millenium Project' was an eye-opener.]

It will be like living on an island with only a small number of plants and animals. The waste we produce alone will eventually make much of the planet inhabitable, and we've already polluted to oceans and air pretty badly. [Wall-E may not be far from the future truth!]

Scientists have already determined that our current Global Warming Crisis is irreversible in the next century. Seems like a good time to start work on finding safer haven somewhere, even if it means living in non-planetary environments like moons, space-stations, and space condos.

I am hoping that we can learn enough along the way to be better stewards of our off-Earth existence than we have been here.
