There's a clue of sorts in the choice of starting base and why they took blood from the midget.

Yes, we do seem to be heading towards a redish hue, don't we? Blood - the redist bit of a red-haired man. Red copper. Those basilisk ashes will like as not have some red about them. I guess it must be a red grape of some sort too.

Does this gold have a specific name? Blood Gold or Scarlet Gold or something like that?

Yes it does. DGI +1 And while it might be about colour the name it refers more to it's point of origin.

Meanwhile what else can you get from grapes that isn't wine?

But think of the sense of reward you'll get from 3 shiny points lapislazuli, if you can guess it right!

Is that point of origin as in the place where you would expect to find it, or the way in which it would be created by this recipe?

I already said raisins. What else can you get - unfermented juice such as some protestant denominations use in the Lord's supper. Grape Jelly, such as you spread on bread. Grape laffy taffy, but I doubt if the Monk would have any of that.

as to grapes the parts that come to mind are the seed, the pulp, the juice, the skin, the stem, the vine, the root.

MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship.

Rose gold is the English term for red gold.

And apart from wine, you also get Champagne and Brandy from grapes, as well as sherry and port.

Maybe other liqueurs or spirits as well?

Not up on the stronger alcohols.
