A TV series which used to be black and white started being shown in colour? Like the Avengers, A750124?

So that would be John Steed's umbrella, except I think it's black. Or his carnation?

I carefully avoided another one though, which now I'm not even sure that it is one, but I won't try anyway (because there is no chance that it would be the answer anyway).

Whose what? The language of an author (or singer) in his or her novels (or songs)? Up till then they were always written using mild language, and in November 69 the first one was issued which had more colourful language?

If it wasn't TV going from B&W to colour, maybe it was another medium...did The Sun or the Mirror become a red-top? Or have I just earned another smiley - bluelight?

A Super Furry Animal

I mentioned newspapers.

I'm not talking about colour printing - that didn't come in for newspapers until the 1980s. I'm talking about the banner at the top of page one, printed in red, saying "The Sun" and "The Daily Mirror" (as I believe it was still called in those days). For the first time, this was printed with red ink, earning them the nickname "red-tops".

It's a bit more colourful than the old black'n'white, yer see?

If I understood well, tabloids are called 'rainbow press' in Germany. I wonder if this is related.

British television programmes?

I recall watching an episode of Garrison's Gorillas on a friends brand new colour set in early 1970, so it couldn't have been in colour for very long here. smiley - biggrin
