OK question time. Was it a bird that only started to do something in the 70s, or was it only discovered to be doing it in the 70s?

When it was spotted in the 1970s, it was the first time it was spotted doing what it was doing in the UK!!!

A reasonably ordinary bird that took up residence somewhere extraordinary, and decided it liked it?

A 'x' bird that took up residence somewhere relatively 'y' and decided it liked it......

So it's an oddball showing up in the UK. Anything beyond that, I'd just be guessing. One klaxon is enough for now.

SO we have a migratory bird, that for some reason has chosen to come to the UK rather than where ever it should be.
