"distributed world wide and sold well ...then..."
"Then" not later? Was there a chance to print a second ecition but this was not taken so the income dried up and instead of becoming a rich artistic man about town he decided to invade poland?

Hello pebblederook
After the book Hitler rose through the ranks of the National Socialist Party so the missed chance would be something that might have impeded his progress. Good point.
I smell a lead +3
How do you know he did not instead of becoming a rich artistic man about town?

"Did he not pay taxes on his royalties from Mein Kampf?"

Mein Kampf, it sold 9,000 copies in 1925, Hitler's political career pushed the sales to 54,000 in 1930 and 850,000 in 1933, the year he became chancellor. Over the next nine years, the German government purchased six million copies of the work as a copy was given as a gift to every pair of newlyweds in Germany. Hitler earned immense amounts. By 1945, a total of 8 million copies had sold, his royalties have been estimated $1 million per year.
