all well and good saying it was an ordinary private funeral
can we have a clue
he didnt want someone at the funeral
were they male/female a relation a bussiness partner some media people
this is becoming the guessing game rather than starting as one and developing
clue clue

Well, the big clue was that there was a person, or group of persons, that he didn't want to show up at his funeral... I had hoped that soemone would guess that, because it seemed kind of obvious to me.
They were neither relations nor business partners nor media people, but they were actually male or female.

I thought random guesses were your usual modus operandi,
only when i am stumped and have no idea, or its funny

The werewolf clue somehow got me thinking of Bela Lugosi, who wasn't a comedian but was Central European. Apparently he never reallly mastered English and had to learn his lines parrot fashion. Nothing whatsoever to do with the answer I'm sure, but you know I always like to go for those ransdom QI points

Neither relations, nor business partners nor media people...
That leaves friends and strangers.

Or, just possibly, colleagues, if they don't come into the category of Business Partners

Was he part of a comedy double act, fell out with his partner and went solo so didn't want him turning up at the funeral?

Was it Bob Carolgees and he didn't want Spit the dog there?

Mrs Zen Posted Dec 7, 2008
Dogs, dogs, dogs....
"My grandpa notes the world's worn cogs
And says we are going to the dogs!
His grandpa in his house of logs
Swore things were going to the dogs.
His dad among the Flemish bogs
Vowed things were going to the dogs.
The cave man in his queer skin togs
Said things were going to the dogs.
But this is what I wish to state
The dogs have had an awful wait."
Hmmmm.

Might he have wanted to prevent Bono or Elton John running after the hearse like a bloodhound who has just caught a fresh (s)cent?

Did he work with animals and didn't want people bringing them to his funeral.
Was he a clown who had a phobia about dogs ?

Yarreau Posted Dec 7, 2008
No, he didn't work with animals, and he didn't have a phobia.
