i work at a newspaper which comes out monday-friday. for production staff, that means we work sundays-thursdays. this is pretty nice, once you get used to it, because you have friday to do things you cant get done on the weekends. the worst bit is probably going to work with a hangover pretty much every single sunday, because of course all your non-work friends want to go out on saturdays. but for me it's ok, because sundays are generally easy at work and i leave early.
the editorial and layout staff, poor souls, work until deadline (11pm), or later. happily, i dont. because so many do, though, we dont start until 11 am! (well, in this country -russia- hardly any office gets going before 10.) i am so lucky, i usually get to leave by 6:30. it's a good deal, all things considered. except of course during big news events, when everyone is working almost 24/7 (like during the theater hostage crisis last year, or elections, etc)
