frankly I sometimes wonder why I bother! I talk about the effect of all this on a young friend of mine who's dad, a hootoo regular, maybe dying and people witter on as if I've just mentioned the weather!

I too have replied to old posts without realising the conversation has moved on - no worries
If you need anything or wonder if there are other researchers with similar interest then just reply to the Ace welcome on your 'Personal Space' and Lil' Ol' Me will be happy to help you out (or leave a message on the <./>ACE</.> homepage and someone will come running!).

Ironlizard, that's known as post twentying. Each conversation has twenty posts on it. It's common for people to reply to post 20 as it looks like it's the last post, but there are actually often way more pages to go. Don't worry as even seasoned hootooers still do this on occasion.

We have also had problems where the "white dot" appears, but there are other postings on an unseen page.. I have have that a lot recently..

red, I'm still trying to take in your post about Bovril and badboy. It's something that requires some thought. I don't know what my response is yet.
I agree it would have been better if someone had acknowledged your post.

Red,
I am angry over that too.. Badboy is my newbie, I also know who his father is too..
I am sorry I didn't reply sooner, I was trying to assist another newbie of mine in this thread.

I've noticed the 'white dot' thing - it happens when you finish a page and the next page is on the next little row of dots, and you'd normally need to push the arrow - but the arrow doesn't come up and you have to get there through the new posts link.

badboy and his dad are friends of mine, I spoke to badboy a couple of days ago about him having very mature head on young shoulders, I wish you could have seen it, A very fine young man he is too it's a shame that childishness amoung adults has driven him away

Help moderators and servers alike.
Could it be that too many researchers subscribe and post to too many threads ?
How many posts/hour are needed to sustain a researcher's community life. ?

*hand up*
I'm dying, and I do find this just a little stressful
Perhaps we could all focus on being constructive, ie rather than going on about things deciding if it is so mindboggling bad how we can through use of COMPRAMISE and NEGOTIATION (yes probably spelt wrong) sort this out peacefully

Hmm, I'm gonna post here eventually it may aswell be now. I have had run ins with LW. I once spent ages yikesing some of his posts in the hope that a brief spell on premod would give him a chance to ruminate on his behaviour. I now find that he behaves himself a bit more often now, at least in the threads I come across him in, in fact I had one little go at his behaviour since he got back, and other than that he's not been too bad, oh wait sorry, two little goes.
>>From what i gather LW has medical problem's and like a lot of people try to enjoy there time on here however there are some who go out there way to try to over power others by playing on the weak and ill how very sad.<<
Oh no, don't you go tarring people with that brush. I was nice and civil with LW you quite a long time before I couldn't take anymore and told him what I felt about his behaviour and online persona and I know others were the same. I didn't know about his medical problems untill quite a bit later.

And Reddy Freddy's qualifications in psychiatry or psychology are....?
And yours, Fords....?
I didn't know either of you were qualified to diagnose mental illness, and I didn't know it was legal or legitimate to publish those diagnoses online.
I'd hate to think that either of you were libelling someone.

Apologies, B. I'm not trying to diagnose him, I'm just stating my thoughts (and RF's) on the matter. I have enough trouble trying to diagnose myself, never mind anyone else!
