McCoy was an alcoholic.
Crusher gave birth to Wesley, so I can't like her.
Bashir was good.
The EMH I found to be a bit too irritating.
Phlox can be irritating, but he's usually a good character.

McCoy was an alcoholic, and so was Scott. It made them charming, and was appropriate for the time of the airing.
Crusher gave birth to Wesley, but was also a widdow with a relationship building with Picard, making her a very complicated character.
Bashir was interesting because in the begining, he acted so superior (and aparently was) until it was shown that he was the product of genetic reengineering. In STDS9, my favorite character was Nog.
Like Bashir, the EMH was trying to create a human side to his artifical body. He wasn't innocent enough to be compaired to Data, I think because his arrogance replaced his innocence and so he could never be human.
I like Phlox because of his many pets and the way he hints at events without gossiping.
