I shouldn't be celebrating it either.
I've always felt that it would be nice to celebrate the start of a new year though. You know, we got through this one, we're not dead yet, and, most of all, we've got an excuse to get absolutely rat- @rsed.
So New Year should be the big atheists' celbration, but:
1)Christmas already there.
2)Life is short, I am impatient, hence I celebrate at Christmas.
3)You can get drunk twice this way.
That's how I justify it to myself anyway.
Liked your rant, am fully in agreement .

Thank you.
That is the thing though. You can celebrate all the religious meanings but without any of that worship work.
I wouldn't worship anyone, never mind these invisable deities.

Yeah... like Easter. We give chocolate eggs to celebrate the way the world starts coming to life again, and there's new life being created everywhere. No need for that resurrection thing.
