This is where items for anaysis are brought in for analysis. Most people especially non-chemists do not get beyond this point. This is nominally for their own health and safety. Actually it's to prevent well-meaning amateurs twiddling with bits of kit that they don't undersatnd.
If you have anything for us to analyse, please leave it here and we will post the results.

Anthea,
I assume it's not your blood, as your particular blood chemistry could play havoc with my instruments. Any clues would be useful, or we may have to institite the infamous Analytical request form.

Ah There you are Anthea,
Unfortunately your, ahem, unique physiology rendered any attempt to do fingerprint analysis void.
however, good news on the blood- Group A+ with a side order of paranoia, it looks as if someone may have tried to cash in on the Jordan contract. Looks a bit messy, might be an idea to ask Joe if he's had anyone in for treatment for a flesh wound. I'd go and ask him, but I don't think he's talking to me after the chocolate incident

The mutual effect that you and silver have on each other scoured the surface of the handle, so much so that I've had to put one of my elves to bed with a very sick headache. He should be alright by morning

[found strange white orb in some caves in the forest. the caves have few features, but this was down in a watery bit next to main route through. the cave seems a bit magical, so i brought it in here.
it's about the size of a fist, maybe a bit bigger, and has a little black spot on one side. like a grenade, but not heavy enough. it's covered in mud so i've washed and i'm about to mess around with the black spot. if nothing happens i'll break it open.]

Let me stick some instruments on it first, before you do anything rash. If I clear it for radiation, contact poisons, and other assorted nasties, You can have it back and do what you like with it.
